MayB, forget other people's publishing. I think I'll just start a little print on demand, short short "rag" called The Crap Chronicles, pass out peanuts to contributers, while charging readers cashews to chew on "our" little bits. ... Sounds like Blogit. Hmmm... someone beat me to the punch.

I am not speaking of the writer's desire for comments. I am speaking of how it would appeal to readers to comment. Avid readers would not want to sit by and be mute. They would want to comment on how a post made them feel. That is not constructive criticism but rather like Letters to the Editor. Following the correspondence to a provocative post would be fascinating.
Also I don't think it is good to appoint anyone or pay them to give constructive criticism. That is not the blogging way otherwise it becomes an edited site. Let writers stand and die by their words

I have to disagree with you, delivery and cost to generate the article to be delivered is zero. To make this Extremely attractive to readers only we must keep the costs insignificant so as to emcourage droves, nay millions to join because it is the very cheapest way to access good current global writing. These people are readers, you as a writer may want to give or recieve input, not them. They will have a very important input, much better than sugary coatings or harsh diatribes, which take too much of my time to read, they will have the freedom of choice to hire or fire a writer based on the power of their click. We can still run with the same format as we have now in the writer pool, but also their may be room for paid valid constructive criticism, perhaps hiring ghost or relif or guest writers from our pool of up-and-comers.

Settling into an easy job was what I
always wanted, but things don't always work out that way for a reason. I hope you get your story where you want it. Politics are the giant hairballs in any system, aren't they? Like a wookie in your shower. Take care

This is also a concern of min...
This is also a big problem for every writer. It is subjective proccess barring every writer fro easy access to readership, the Editors. I understand why now that I've begun to Blogit. Simply put, they would loose business if they published some of the writers who have not achieved excellence in their craft yet. The problem lies in the fact that because of personal subjective conerns many a great author has been turned down at least once. I include in the great category those that enjoy a vast readership but whom I;ve never read because I don't like the subject matter. Harry Potter comes to mind. To circumvent this control grip that editors have to deny access to readers of good writters, my mind has come up with a plan for us Blogitographers. Please read it in the fiction column and tell me what you think.

It is tough to give up a Career, for whatever reason. I went cold turkey on mine and it was HARD. For a while I went back - your route sort of... got a job that I was way overqualified for because people knew me. Did that well and wound up putting my 2 cents in where if I had ever been anyone else I would never have been at the meetings. And that was fun for a bit too, but eventually I went cold turkey again and have not gone back. From time to time I still want that recognition, but it is just not worth the effort for me! Anyway, I sypathize

Personal Power
There is a lot of talk these days about having personal power.
You seem to have it! I have actually started to knock back commissions if I think there will be sabotage NO MATTER what the bait.
Let's see if I can hold out.
