Ody
I don't think you understand what 'worship' is at all. I do not worship my family. I love them, I have great faith in them, but I do not worship them. If you think otherwise, please find me a definition of worship that you think would fit. I can find none myself.
I do not worship anything. I do not give religious reverence to anything. I do not perform acts of ceremony to anything. I do not pay divine honors to anything.
You obviously do not understand what worship is. While I will agree there are people who worship many things and are not aware of it (Organized sports being about the biggest of those), I know I do not worship anything. The closest I come to 'worship' would have to be Star Wars, but even there is falls short of worship since they way I celebrate my joy for it does not cross that line.
Enjoying something, loving it, holding it dear to you and having faith in it are not worshipping it. You might wish to go and learn english before you start telling people they do not understand the definitions of words that you clearly do not understand.

Gomedome – Your definition of “worship” seems limited
only to the narrow religion that you so despise. I think the greatest places of worship for me have been outdoors, not in churches. It is very sad that you so despise singing. To me, choral song is one of the most beautiful expressions issued forth by humans.

Kooka, on the contrary, you do worship!
Many times you have indicated your propensity toward familial worship. However, you’re not the only one that believes they worship nothing, while in fact they are worshiping. Many people today do not really realize the things that they worship. Cars, boats, social status, loved ones, lovers, money, homes, power, etc., etc., etc. Indeed, as we’ve discussed before, all humans develop a primary focus in life toward something. But it’s only when we start purposefully directing our primary focus to something beyond secularism that we come to experience a heightened sense of spirituality.

kooka_lives -the entire idea of an omnipotent being needing or even wanting
to be worshipped, to me is ludicrous. And look how they choose to demonstrate this worship, they gather in buildings once a week to mutter prayers or sing hymns. It doesn't occur to too many people, that this sort of activity is nonsensical and only has meaning to those involved in the practice. I just cannot see the connect in logic from their perspective, an omipotent being, by their definition, would be most unhappy with the way things are set up now if in fact he needed worship. One of the world's major religions has splintered into over 33,000 denominations, while others aren't singing from the same song book. This is what they want to ostracize people like ourselves for? For not partaking in this self flaggelating nonsense?
I have a better idea, sell the real estate these churches are built on and donate the money to societal programs. Then begin a campaign of ostracism against each and every believing knucklehead that thinks showing up at church replaces living a life of acceptance, caring and respect for others....no we can't do this last part because we would immediately become like them.
