Beautiful poem. Man is made in the image of God but seldom acts god-like.

Nice words and lovely picture
There's an element of 'When you walk through the storm' from Carousel in here - my favourite ever musical.

We have been taught for a long time to seek 'conscious contact with the God of our own understanding.'
I went to the Harlem Gospel singers a while back and I cuddenly understood
"Direct Conscious Contact"
It changed me and my perspective enourmously.
Thanks for the comment,
Jo

OK We say we either turn towards God or away. We grow to be more like God as we draw closer to spirit and purity. Everything that turns us awy from God murkys the water everything that turns us towards make it clear and transparent. So the more we drop 'falseness' - which is what our defenses are - denial- the more God like we become.
Others may have a different take though.
Glad you dropped in.

There is much humility in this poem. Those things we would rather not face can turn into beautiful things with a bit of patience and attention. Thanks.

Wonderfully expressed. I can relate. We have all been in flash floods and murky waters. I have grown, become stronger, it has increased my faith. But I don't feel that it has made me more like God. Wish it had. Can you give me a quick rundown on your insight on that point?
