Thanks again.

1. I can take or leave service, but Southwest Airlines takes me a day to get over the seating.

2. Folks who have to deal with us pesky travelers do not get paid enough in many cases; if they were treated like cruise ship attendants, they would be quiet because theyu'd fear for their livlihoods or lives if they lipped off.

3. Perky joking on the intercom  makes me impatient...especially if it is from the flight cabin.

Warm towels and nice service over a flight as long as yours was must help keep the passengers happy and quiet.

What's worse are the bitchy gay male stewardesses ...
a group of us were flying back from Las vegas, and this one cranky bitch kept telling us to hold it down. We were 90 percent of the plane!!!!

Majroj, I'm not sure
exactly, what your point is here - I think I have an inkling - but you've made at least two points, yes, no????

I'll take laconic service anyday.

Just give me a seat to fit into and stop with the jokes already.

The factor which made my one and only cruise (so far) both very tolerable and yet uncomfotable was that of our attendants on board. They are attracted to employment because of the chance to make some real honest to God money, generally U.S. dollars; besides being money, it is cash in hand, not credit, so it is very liquid and, if you are clever and lucky, can escape taxation or mandatory relilnquishment at your home country's borders. The hours are very long, professional protection nonexistent, and if you get put off the ship (say, for sneezing at dinner and garnering a complaint) you are not only out of luck, but potentially marooned.

Don't you think many American tourists might wear down or repell flight attendants?

Nope, it's not Rosh haShanah -- that was back in October, I think. But nope, no holidays right now, and Hannukah is real late this year -- Dec 25th at sundown.
