Welcome, Bud-Oracle and Witchflower!

Glad to have you on board. Must be Babs' celebtrity drawing power.

Bud, where may I find your story? No such thing as a nobody, my neighbor to the north. And if it's any comfort, I get honked at parts of our domestic policy, specifically excessive spending and lack of border security, eh!

Witchflower, I'll ask you a question before answering yours. If Bubba was so concerned about terrorism as to warn his successor, why didn't he take meaningful action against them himself? Sorry to say this, but I think he was more interested in shirking the repsonsibility off to someone else than in offending anyone by taking a stand. I heard a telling description of the Clintonian approach to terrorism today: A terrorist kills your people and you presume he didn't do it.

Now, about your very astute question: To rewrite history is to retell it in a manner designed to change the understanding and remembrance of what happened. A better phrasing would be to rewrite the account of history. Obviously, revising the account of what happened doesn't open some sort of time warp and change what actually took place. But it changes how what happened is remembered. The WMD issue is a perfect example. The historical record is that, from the beginning, President Bush presented WMDs as one of several reasons for the invasion. But that record is being revised by opponents to the invasion to claim that it was the only reason. If that revision is accepted as accurate, then the war is discredited. But the record of what actually happened refutes such a claim.

But, OFFBEATS, she's so much fun!

Xenox , really! You have documentation that three billion people, who have the freedom to speak their own minds (like Cubans, North Koreans and Chinese, for instance) hate George W. Bush. Would you be so kind as to share that evidence with us?

Corbin, good replies!

Xeno.....

And the left would have voted each and every one of them in 2000 in Florida and in 2004 in Ohio, if they could have.......anything to beat GW......

The rest if the world isn't involved with out electoral process.....well, except when the Chinese gave hundreds of thousands illegally to the Clinton re-election. So who cares???

It's a shame Clinton didn't anticipate what Osama was up to when he had him offered to us....but nooooooo, we wanted to treat things back then as legal matters and not as a terror threat......so he walked and the rest is history........

It's also a shame that the same President was a wussy when it came to dealing with the threat when it was in it's infancy.........We were attacked, what 4 times, by Bin Laden's  Islamofacists gangs...........and look at the message he sent them with the way he handled Somalia......

Other than a cruise missile here, and a cruise missile there...........we're lucky we had an impeachment......then only times he responded was when something broke about his shenanigans, as a distraction.......

Re-writing history is how the LIBDems in Congress and certain former Presidents suddenly forgot that they had the same position as the administration....as they now spout the  focus croup tested mantra....."He Lied".  If he did, so did they.......

Just had to mention

that Clinton did anticipate terrorist attacks and did warn Bush and his advisors.  It's on the record, easy to find with a little internet research.

I have a question.  I hear the phrase "rewriting history" so much lately.  What do you mean by that, specifically?  I don't understand the usage. Facts are facts, history is what happened.  Truthful reporting of what any administration does is not rewriting history.  Lying doesn't change what happened, no matter which side does it.  The use of catch phrases, slang, and buzzwords weakens the ideas and information one is sharing.  Solid facts and references are the only way to help people understand.
