Good work, everyone!

Good discussion - serious issues and humor, intentional or otherwise.

Scoop, spot on. You hit it exactly. My only other remark there is that either she has become addicted to her fmae (or infamy), or that she is being used by the rest of the far left. Perhaps both.

Glenn, she may indeed be a decent and humane person. But her sanity and intelligence are in doubt. Anyone who would call military rescue efforts in New Orleans an occupation is missing some tinsel from her tree. Valid point about the cost of war. However - what is the cost of surrendering to evil? And, heck even you have your supporters. I understand what she is trying to do. And I understand that she is wrong.

Xenox, there are plenty of other people whose private property rights and access to emergency services were being affected.

Corbin - bingo! Perfect demonstration of her ignorance. Xenox, you're absolutely right in stating, "Israel in Palestine and the U.S. in Iraq are a major cause of terrorism." A major cause, not the only cause. The Crusades and the perception of the West as being nothing but a bunch of inifdels deserving of death are also major causes. Abolishing Israel and pulling out of Iraq will not eliminate those causes.

corbin_dallas
it's true though
Israel in Palestine and the U.S. in Iraq are a major cause of terrorism. That's the problem that too many people don't make the connection.

For some reason the Bush family has a strangle-hold on everything in Texas! Could it be all those Yale graduates run amok in America? Laws governing protest on a dirt road in Texas are representative of the pety nature of the Bush following! They got away with "scrubbing" his military file, there seems to be no end!

actually
first, I have to check reports re: those arrests.
what it looks like is that Texas rewarded their favorite son by passing laws almost ex post facto in response to the demonstrations in order to remove the problem.

what needs to be done here is for more people to go down there -- not just a few dozen -- not just a few hundred, not just a few thousand.
and fill the jails.

we have to back to Thoreau and his ideas on nonviolent protest -- the ida is to do what you think is right even if it violates the law (pro-lifers do that) and then accept the penalty of the law -- go to jail for what you believe in.

WriterofLight,

You have again missed the "real" point! This is about getting the forces of justice on the Planet mobilized to prosecute a "war" criminal! Hitler also had his supporters! Clinton had his supporters (if you can impeach a President for lying about a sexual affair)? George Bush is indictable for "Crimes Against Iraqi Humanity"!

Corbin Dallas,
You simply do not get it!

Scoop,

Why would you say that? Protest to the "war" in Iraq should begin and end on your cue? Ms. Sheenan has a very decent and humane approach to trying to draw attention to the actions of a madd-President! I am really confused by the so-called-Bush-supporters! What are they supporting? An open-ended war? Do they think America has an unlimited supply of bombs? This is getting expensive (see response to natural disasters).

Wake-up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WoL Cindy Sheehan is the poster child of stupidity
in the begining I supported her right to protest, but she went to far and didn't know when to quit.

Thanks, Corbin and FW!

Happy Thanksgiving, belatedly, to all!

FW, you're right, my visits to Texas have been limited to San Antonio and DFW Airport. However, I want you to apply some real thought to this question concerning your remark, "there's nothing by the Bush compund except a road. To say that protesters were disrupting traffic is absurd:" What do you think traffic tavels on?

You have obviously never been to Crawford, TX ...
