MandaLee - thank you but we had our thanksgiving last month
It seems that someone, somewhere figured out that the Thanksgiving holiday was too close to Christmas so it was placed half way between Labour day and Christmas on the calender. It also is prudent to have family members travelling home in the better weather (and safer roads) of October when one lives in Canada.

Gomedome, I share Jesus in how I live. Not a pamphlet.
Happy Thanksgiving!

$26 bucks? Man, you got taken. Try Taco Bell. You can feed a family of
four for around $5.  And I hear it really tastes like Mexican food.  Ya know, here in America (after all, we are the ONLY America lol), we really love our foreign food!

Hmmm...
I have no idea how I got Minnesota stuck in my brain other than it was late and I was tired. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

renigade3 - when are you going to learn to spell the word "colour"?
and we know exactly what a Denny's restaurant is. A cheap sandwich stop. I got off with $26 for 4 people for lunch.....I thought they had made a mistake on the bill....and no the Chinese did not eat all of our moose meat, they are partial to back bacon however, which drives the price up.

Giskard - Michigan...not Minnesota - the land of 1,000 lakes is 1,000 miles
away from where I live, not day trip range. I actually have many relationships with a number of American citizens, this post was more tongue in cheek than anything else. Americans are members of one of the most decent societies on the planet. Too bad that they, like most western societies (including Canada), live in a state of denial as to where their societal mindset is taking them.

Justsouno - why would you think that I am the least bit interested in your
deluded opinion? The last I checked you had me blocked, even though I rarely commented on your posts in the past. Or is it a case of you just not having the willpower to stay away from my blogs? Are you a sucker for punishment or what? If my ramblings hurt you so much, why do you allow yourself this pain? Something I suggested that you do a long time ago, was stay away from my postings, why do you come back? One can only hope that someday you will see that you spew as much vitriol and hatred as you accuse me of doing, except it is directed specifically at those who do not buy into your delusion or those who refuse to conform to your beliefs. .....but of course Satan made me write this comment.

Gomedome
Your photo on the side and the description is apt! Complicated minds do bore idiots! I have been hurt so many times by your Satanic, ignorant blabbering even when I am not reading your blog just perusing others comment pages. You are an ugly man to the core. I have tried in so many ways to see you as forgivable, humane, caring about something, and perhaps the product of a lot of hurt. One person could not have been hurt enough for that to be the reason for them to hurt others so badly and so consistently. To make a game of hurting others simply because they believe differently than you. You slam me daily on here because I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. You have no real ammunition to fight with except hatred. You could begin right now asking forgiveness for the pain you have inflicted on individuals and eternity would not be long enough. I was sorry for you for a while now I consider you a mean dastardly piece of trash working for Satan against anything good, right or caring.

Well, yankees are from New England, not Michigan. And BTW--

most smart Americans don't eat at Denny's...  We put those up for the self-riteous Canadians to visit so they leave feeling just as superior when they leave as when they arrive.  Then we threw in couple of "colored" folk so you can get the true "ambiance" of the place.  After all, what's the US without colored folk and guns?

The pamphlets don't surprise me.  However, I am shocked that the tri-color condom machine made it possible to stack them on top of the commode.

So why were you down slumming it, anyway?  Did the Chinese eat all your moose meat?

Came back with a gun and a bible, eh?
Well, I need to warn you, be very careful with that bible. It's dangerous. Millions upon millions have died at the hands of those wielding it.

Also, Minnesota is not Yankee territory. They probably wouldn't be flat-out insulted if you called them such; they'd just realize that you're not from around there.

Generally, people from other countries (though I wouldn't have thought Canadians) sometimes refer to Americans as Yankees. But when Americans' use the term, it usually more specifically refers to those of New England/North Eastern states of which Minnesota is most definitely not apart of and has very little in common with, historically speaking. They were explored by and eventually settled by very different sets of people with very different cultures. Minnesota has a large Scandinavian decent.

As we enter the 21st century many of these differences in culture through out the U.S. have certainly become diluted. Those big boxes you referred to have been and are opposed by many people, in part, because of that very dilution. Local communities are losing their character.

Never-the-less. If you ever take the time to actually meet and get to know some of the people you criticize, you might find more depth than you were led to believe existed by your television set.

I must replace my spellchecker program...It rejected the spelling when I typed Moosaneean.     I'm not the Cunning, just a visiting guest.   Melody

Hi there!
Do you happen to know if Bullwinkle left those pamphlets in the restroom at Denny's and is he a native Moosanee?  Regards, Melody

mysteria - I hear you - I went through some culture shock as well when I
was in Mexico but had already been to Iran by then, so my revulsion of another people's world was tempered.

blackcat30 - now c'mon --- where then would real Yankee territory be?
outside of New York state of course. I would guess at Pennsylvania...

GomeDome

I live in San Diego aka busiest border town in the world.  I NEVER set foot in Mexico.  At least Tijuana.  Talk about culture shock!

as a real yankee, from New York, I have to say that Michigan isn't yankee
territory.  LOL    Sounds like a scary trip.
