Xenox again:
Thanks for pointing that out. Who was right? I think the fate of the South Vietnamese under Communism answers that question. Seems to me we were kicking Vietcong ass until Congress did start interfering later on.

Thanks, mystic!

Amazing, as always. You have my permission to go hide your defeated head in the sand if that give you pleasure. Meanwhile, the President, the military and a hell of a lot of Americans press on.

Mission? Has been explained repeatedly. In short:

  1. Disarm the Saddam regime in compliance with 14 UN sanctions ordering him to do so.
  2. Remove said regime as a haven and bankroller of international terrorists.
  3. Aid the Iraqis in estabishing a stable democracy tailored to the needs of the country.
  4. Sending a message to any other supporters of terrorism that we will do the same to them unless they change their ways. (Note: Muamar Qadafi didn't disarm because he woke up in his tent one morning and decided to be a nice guy. He read the writing on the walls of Saddam's palaces, if you will.)

Timetable? Yup, right, tell the terrorists when we are leaving so they can lay low and take over the country when we go. Where did you learn military strategy? Wars don't follow timetables, individual missions do. This isn't football, it's baseball.

Thanks, Xenox!
Question: What is more likely to destroy the country: Bush's policies, or the raging and spiteful bitterness of his enemies? I think a careful comparison of his rhetoric to that of the hard left will answer that. Same need to be said of divisiveness: Is Bush divisive, or are his enemies divisive by refusing to seek any common ground with him?

Thanks, Corbin!

Oh, but it makes the results so much fun to read! I wonder what accounts for some of the other creative typing that comes up around here. Beer or not, your thoughts are always appreciated.

Corbin Dallas,
What does that mean? Were you kicked out and can't go back? Give me a break! You seem very ignorant!

We can either admit defeat now ...
and save our Army, or we can admit defeat two years from now and destroy our Army. Iraq is unwinnable because there is no defined mission, no strategy, no timetable, no nothing.

I already served my country....
How about you?

Corbin Dallas,

There is a position for you in the U.S. Army as well you know! They are having trouble meeting goal in recruitment. As you are aware the National Guard and Reserves are being used indisriminately and against the Constitutional responsibility of civilian soldiers! A small detail tough for you people! Why not join in the fight "over there" yourself???

I am glad Mentioning the 3 dems that voted for troop withdrawal, the ones that basically stayed the course, so to speak...........

One would have to be a fool to believe there are only three Democrats in the House who support the language of the resolution offered last night to bring the troops home immediately......... At the top of the list is Nancy Pelosi who, instead of voting her conscience and representing her constituents, decided to play victim and accuse GOPhers of "politicizing the war" - something she's been doing non-stop for more than two years now.

Wanting to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq doesn't make you a coward.

What does make you a coward is when you truly believe we should get our troops out of Iraq immediately...........you have a chance to vote for doing exactly that.............and you choose not to because you fear the political consequences of being on record revealing your position to the public. This was not a vote on some provision of the budget, it was the most important subject on which members of Congress have the privilege and duty to vote. And frankly the LIBDems showed what cowards they really are.......
