Sounds like the mist trick would help. Thanks.

Our former minister and his wife...

...had a little trick they used in order to try to get their beagle to be more discriminating concerning her barking habits.  They would mist her face--with concentration on the snout area--with water.  Almost 30 years have passed since then, so I can't remember now whether it worked or not.

Maybe HoneyBear simply wants to sing along with you and is doing the best that he can.

Reading your story brought to mind not only Elvis' Hound Dog song but, also, made me think of a song-poem I'd heard years ago but hadn't thought about in awhile.

Now, I've decided to make the lyrics (a link to them, that is) the feature of the day for one of my blogs (at another site)--as well as sharing a link here.

Warning:  Have lots of tissues ready...

Curator,
Thanks for the suggestion. I may just try the bad tasting spray idea. My doggies really did tear up the pet door! The dog/furnace room has an awful draft in it now, and when I get a new door, I'll probably get the spray.

Thanks!

Jacenta,
Yes, I truly do love HoneyBear. I have to admit he's the most entertaining dog I've ever had. I figure in time he'll outgrow part of his habits.

Blessings to you and yours always.

Hey songbird
Just a thought on the chewing -- try a bad-tasting spray.  Ask your pet store?

I am so sorry I am smiling at your preposterous situation, but everytime I play my recorder our little Tiffany cries, and jumps up trying to bite the end of it.  She also refuses to let me play the organ or piano, because it bothers her ears.  Dogs ears are so much more sensitive to sound then ours.  She is gradually accepting the piano, but not willingly. At least, she doesn't mind if I sing, unless I use the karaoke machine.  haha This is a cute post and I wish you the best with your little dog.  I am glad your stinker has a person that loves him.

Thanks for the visit and comment on my pet post. Catch ya later....
