Thank you, OFFBEATS!

Implosion? How about an outright nervous breakdown?

Glenn: Of course I will acknowledge a good point, when you make one, but I will challenge any deficiencies in it, as I did here.I do that because I am committed to exposing the errors of modern liberalism. Thank you for the compliment on my skill at doing so.

Consider the history here, Kerry, or Kennedy, or any Democrate willl try to shift the focus away from how they voted on the war. That's what is great about the Democratic party....THEY EMPLODE, with this issue it will happen again and again, Considering everything we knew at the time,We being US, responded to what was thought a nuclear threat, or a potenital threat. Weapons grade plutonian was missing when theUN inspectors were there..The UN inspectors had already validated the weapons grade  materials, but could not locate the site. Based on all the information at the time, I believe we did the right thing. Considering Saddam lust for blood, he needed to be taken out anyway. That said, we are still on target for the scope of the war. We were told it would take 3 to5 years to rebuild Iraq strong enough to led itself in the 21st century.. I would say we should start seeing the troops come home as we make greater progress in teaching them to trust themselves....that is not a culture easily turned around.

WriterofLight,
That is mighty 'big" (I have to watch myself here) to admit a point was made! But you readily turn it around! Why do you do that? Can we back up the trucks and get the "Texas Hillbillies" out of the White House? Save us a lot of time and money!

Thank you for reading!

Egad - fwmystic and Corbin agreeing! Next thing you know, Glenn and Corbin will be in agreement! Yikes!

Mystic: Consider the meanings of "we" and "I accept responsibility." All of those aspects were presented at the same time as the "focus and mission" of the war, from the beginning on forward. "Stay the course . . ."?? I am flabbergasted!

Corbin, the Democrats will not win again if they keep this garbage up. It endears them to the hardcore left, but eveyone else is getting fed up with it.

Glenn, good point about no other nation invading. However: No one else had the means to do it. We were not alone in going in. A unanimous concensus was never going to come from the UN, if that's what you mean, because France and Germany were on the take from Oil for Food and didn't want their dirty little secrets known. There was no apology, and none is due.

Scoop: Right about Bubba, especially concerning terrorism. The refusal to apprehend Osama and allowing the "Gorelick Wall" to be erected were unconscionable. Choosing to prosecute terrorism solely as a law enforcement issue was just plain foolish. But the one who really did too little about Iraq was GHW Bush. He should have sent the military into Baghdad when he had the chance.

Glenn, again: Very astute question about Bubba.   Shrillary's aspirations for the White House are plenty of motivation for him to stay in the limelight. He didn't quite do "nothing"; he did lob a few missles into empty buildings whenever the heat, as it were, concerning Monica got too hot.

Scoop,
Other than to crowd the issue with hyperbole and blame everybody else!

Scoop,
I hate to argue symantics, but what do you mean Clinton did nothing? He kept the same pressure on Iraq that Bush I had firmly in place! You know ole Bush I did not expect to lose his re-election! I have no clue why Clinton keeps popping up in the debate on why Iraq was invaded???

Yes both parties bit on thr bad info
Clinton did nothing of course, and Bush went to far.

WriterofLight,

You are a well trained pooch! No other nation with the same intelligence decided to invade Iraq without unanimous concensus! Bush did, he was wrong! America was wrong! My objection to America's policy on Iraq goes back probably farther than you are old! So I am not impressed by your ignorance of "real" fact!

I did not hear the apology! And there are too many dead bodies to allow it to be that casual! This is not Oklahoma vs. Texas!

fwmystic

Finally you and I can agree on something....Stay the course is the only option.

Writer......they will keep up the same chorus of attacks and repetition of key phrases, certified and focus group tested......it has nothing to do with the right thing or the wrong thing........it's all about the "winning again" thing.

Did George admit HE was wrong?????
Not as far as I remember. In fact, rather than admit he was wrong, he has kept changing the focus and mission of the war. From WMD to freedom for Iraqis to peace in the Middle East. Admitting he was wrong is one thing, what he's doing about it is another. Stay the course.
