Excellent -
Why do I get the feeling that you know what you're doing. You had me with the first sentence. I was beginning to wander where it was going with the Jackie thing but the ending was simply marvelous. (Excuse the spelling today pls.) Another brilliant unexpected ending.
i'd actually suggest you keep an eye out for Wordsmith who regularly runs Blog Write-Offs.

I didn't realise until the end that he was dying. I like he way he becoems a 6 year old again in his dad's care
