Sex offenders should never see the light of day much less have to worry about where they can or can't live. They are the scum of society, they lost their rights when they hurt their first victim...Like you, there is a lot more to be said, but I will save it for another time. The ACLU has definitely gone over the edge on this and on a few other cases as well. People who hurt children and other people and old people should have no rights period!

Corbin...
I think having convicted killer drunk drivers report on New Year's Eve and 4th of July is a great idea. Again, lets feel more empathy for the victims rather than the convicted. There is a line in Batman, the Beginning where the bad guy says, "the criminal element feeds off of society's attemps to understand them."
Perhaps offender who have not re-offended for a specified length of time should be allowed to return to normal, but only if you or I would trust them with our own children or grandchildren.

Sex offenders should never be given the chance to see the light of day. Almost every sex offender that is released re-offends. And their offenses get worse and worse each time. Punishments need to be as harsh as possble. People need to start feeling sorry for victims, not criminals.

Not to be a devil's advocate here........
First, understand, I think sex offenders....especially the ones that feed off of children should be given the most severe punishment available. The ridiculously low sentences being handed out is one of the main problems in our court system.....
But my libertarian side also gets a bit concerned when I here things like the reports on how convicted sex offenders were being handled in various communities during Halloween. Some were requiring them to come in to police stations for the evening.
Now to me that is punishing someone for the same crime over and over. If someone is convicted of a crime and serves their time in total....no parole....no probation. How can they be forced to continue to be punished, so to speak, for the same crime?
Based on that premise, those convicted of killing someone while drunk driving....should be required to report in on say, New Years Eve. What's the difference?

I agree with you, Food4Thought. They don't deserve any rights.....
They're the lowest form of offender. What else can be done?
