MaMa D
I just finished also reading your Eulogy for your friend.  I, too, lost my best friend.  She was too young!  Only in her early 40's--breast cancer.  What you wrote and espress about your friend's character and personality, about how she saw you and championed you, could have been me talking about MY friend.  I wish I had had an "old gray sweater." This was a beautiful piece of writing.

Muy querida Mama, As I age, I lose more friends and it hurts the same

every time. I still have my best friends, so I cannot fathom your loneliness and am sorry that you find yourself alone this week. Losing the ones who absolutely, daily believe in us when we don't, are the hardest to lose, as who will take over their job now? My mom is like that. Guess she's my best friend these last few years....may she live forever.

I am so sorry. The sweater hug sounds good. Mom just put on Dad's sweaters and sat around reading for almost half a year when he died. It kept him with her, she said. Mis pesames......

You have captured n intense and real moments of your lives on Bloggit. My thoughts are with you for losing your friend. You have great courage and a great love of life which is beautiful. It amazes me how something as disposable as a tisue can be so invested with meaning. In the years to come you will be able to look back on this captured moment in time.

I'm sorry for your loss. She sounds like the sister you chose, and who chose you. It should be our goal to have someone like you as our friend, someone who loves us and can write such sweet things about us. :)
