Xenox, thanks for weighing in!

Your referal to "screaming portrayals" surely describes these wonderful rants our buddy Glenn launches, doesn't it? What part of President Bush accepting responsibility for both the Katrina response and the war in Iraq -something I have yet to hear any Democrat do for these or any other issues - did you miss?

Glenn -  I think you're mistaken about the development of our arsenal. After Bubba got through emasculating the military, Bush has done much to rebuild it, both in materiel and morale. At age 51 and two weeks, I do appreciate your considering me young; thank you for the compliment, the only other person who calls me young is the greeter at Walmart. You do have a valid point concerning comparing Iraq to World War II, but you have two problems with it. First, Iraq is part of a broader war on terror, and can't rightly be isolated in this way. Second, while Islamofascist terrorism is not the same kind of threat as Nazism or Japanese imperialism, it is nonetheless as much - if not more of - a global threat because of the weapons available to the terrorists and the greater ease of rapid world travel. The last sentence completely fails. How can bin Ladin be a creation of Bush's nightmares when Bubba recognized him as a threat?

love your screaming portrayals -- BASELESS ACCUSATIONS.

anytime it seems anyone wants a government responsive to the pepole and responsible for its actions, the fanatic right wing wants to sling all the mud it can in order to cover up the truth.

WriterofLight,
It was George Bush who, when he came out of hiding, decided to open up the vast arsenal in America's military (a arsenal that he played no role in developing)! You are a very confused young man to equate WWII, a war where the Planet was at risk, to Iraq! you people need to get some perspective! Bush created bin Laden from his nightmares not mine!

Glenny B aka " Uncle Remus"
sounds as if you need to grow some balls and stop blaming a RACE of people other than YOUR OWN.

Welcome, cantey1975!

Glad to have you weighing in. Trevor and Glenn are entertaining, aren't they?

To the matters at hand:

Glenn, comment  #1: Ever hear of national defense? If I follow your line of thinking, we should never have fought Japan or Germany in World War II because bombs kill people. It does seem that oil was the reason for war - to those who deny the facts. And I think cantey nailed you on your last paragraph.

Trevor - thanks for the laugh I got from your subject. If Japan had made motions to surrender, then why were they still sending kamikazes into our ships and launching banzai charges on Okinawa until the bombs were dropped? And, yes, Git'mo does indeed ring bells concerning contempt for human life - as in the contempt the terrorists being held there show for it.

You and Glenn both demonstrate exactly what I was referring to, in a different style: You have no outrage whatseover over Americans or any other free people being killed, be it in combat, in POW camps or by terrorists. But let America defend herself, and you blow a gasket over it.

And if you guys really believe that al Qaeda is being paid off by the Pentagon and that President Bush is a fascist and a war criminal, then your reasoning and your grasp of facts are so far down the rabbit hole that you may well be having tea with the Mad Hatter even as I type this. Remember to curtsey to the Queen of Hearts while you're there.

Glenn, comment #2: Enjoy Vegas, Trevor! Glenn, who elsewhere promised a fellow reader he'd buy her a month's free subscription, says you will now win!

To use Glenn's idea, I'm about ready to draw up an indictment of the crimes against common sense that I witness in some of the comments I get around here.

Corbin Dallas,
The "real" facts cut deep here! Put up or shut up! We know your game! And it is too whimpish, played by the "faint of balls crowd" like yourself!

Trevor Cunnington,
You have better odds in Vegas than getting a coherent response from this writer! He has a loyal chorus who will amen every post. It is both neauseating and offensive! When they drag "W" and Laura sceaming from the White House he will claim it a "liberal" conspiracy! It has been an embarassment these People occupying the White House. But there is that Tony Blair! Where is he anyway?? Have they locked him up?

holy hipocrasy batman!

Contempt of human life?  Does Hiroshima or Nagasaki ring a bell?  Japan had made motions to surrender two weeks before they dropped the bombs!  So much for American-style democracy having some kind of innate respect for human life.  Oh, yah, did you forget the Japanese are human?

Contempt of human life?  Does Guatanamo Bay ring a bell?  Or the death penalty for the mentally challenged convicted of murder? George Bush pointing out the sanctity of human life is nothing less than you catching a child stealing from the cookie jar and the child refusing to admit it.

Hate to burst your bubble but Al-Queda terrorists are probably on the Pentagon's payroll.  The similarity between George Bush and Al-Queda is they both tend towards fascism.  Does continuing to engage in a war when most of your country disagrees with you sound like democracy to you?  Did you just drop down a rabbit hole or something?

WriterofLight,

As the President sinks closer to an indictment for "crimes against humanity", you come across as less and less rational in your rantings! Why is that America has all the bombs if they are so pre-occupied with the preservation of life! It seem Iraq's oil had more to do with the invasion than a concern for the Iraqis welfare under Saddam Hussein!

I could draw up an indictment against George Bush in less time than it takes for those missing military files to show up!

A thought: At the point in time when a man decides to take pleasure in the destruction of another human being or incites others or conspires with others to incite others to similar acts of barbarism, his life should be as routinely wasted! I HAVE VERY LITTLE REGARD FOR B-2 BOMBER PILOTS (for them it is just a safe job)!
