Avant..
I am new to blogging so this is my opinion for what it's worth. I find that many people here are either writers or aspiring writers and want to express themselves or get "discovered". Then there are the rest of us that really have a lot to say about the way we see our world and our life and like to share it with others. I enjoy reading the ideas and opinions of others and I am open to their opinions. It is when we close our minds that we stop growing. I'd rather live next to a flowing creek than a stagnant ditch. I enjoy your writing and for those who think your writing is too intellectual...there is always the AOL chatroom. Peace and love.

there sure are...sometimes i can almost feel another blogger's hand in mine thru the day, sometimes i think about them and invision their smile lighting my moment, more often i reflect on their posts and comments and know they are my hearts friend...i remember when i was struggling with something awhile back, and you kind of followed me around a little to posts and left petals of gentleness for me to find, and you know what Scott, you helped me more than you will ever know by just your loving reminder that i could stop now anytime i was ready:-)

I like your attitude
I have to say that I do see a lot of blog posts that tend to scrutinize other people's blogs and I say why? What is the point of that? We should all be freely writing about things that really matter to us as you certainly do and not dwell on offending other's point of views. After all they have an equal right to share their point of view. Fair is fair. And I've realized too that you can't make any real money here. I enjoy writing about things I know that may be of interest to others and also about things I feel deeply about and wonder whether others share my view. And sometimes I write just to get things off my mind and look forward to receiving comments from people who can relate to me. So I certainly don't restrict myself to writing in any one particular style - that would get boring. So you just keep on writing about whatever thoughts you care to share with us because there are those of us hear who will relate and will listen without passing extreme judgments.
Congratulations on your new baby who is fortunate to have such a wonderful Daddy!

Avant,
I agree with you wholeheartedly! Your writing is very good and you do have friends here. At least I count myself as one. I enjoy reading all that you post, though I don't get to blog everyday so I'm sure I haven't read all of them.
Keep up the great work.

You've nailed it. I had that image of myself, I am sad to admit. I now believe that you get what you give. People know when you are sincere, and when you are just puffing yourself up.

His little toes are splayed so innocently. His little fingers clutch your finger, in an attempt to find their purpose. His eyes will pop open every now and then, and attempt to look. His mouth will gape open, and sigh. It's simply divine to watch.

I must admit at a glance, Blogit appears to be all those things the e-mailer claims. On the surface, it is often a big virtual high school with all the silliness, pettiness, and juvenile antics that implies. However, a close examination will uncover that Blogit is also so much more. I've discovered that those who are quickly disappointed and disillusioned with this site are secretly upset because they didn't sweep in and become the greatest thing since sliced bread. You reap what you sow here. You only get as much as you give.

THE MAKINGS OF FAMILY IS STRONGER THAN FAMILY THOUGHT.
I do enjoy your expressions, especially when you have reached into that quiet place that few would ever even visit...If there be a negative comment that hits something, then let it be to the revealing of that sore spot, so that a healing opportunity be seen. If it hits nothing then there be no need for change.

avant-garde,
Marvelous! He has blond hair and a nose shaped like yours?

A newborn is most precious of anything in this entire world!!! Their tiny hands and tiny feet are so cute. What is also wonderful is when little ones grow up to be adults, they remember the love given and they give it right back.

Only Avant Garde?
Dear friend,
this post really showed the insecurites we artists have in ourself no matter how much we deny and you dared to disclose it,you dont need to change what you write and the way you write, until and unless you feel so,just being Avant Garde is more than enough isnt it so? On many occasions people say you should be this instead of that, but if it would have been required you would have been created that way,you were born as a writer for your very self and the almighty not for each and everyone, the ones who'll find affinty will come along others who dont understand are for some other place and people. So just be yourself. And this is not an online kitty party that we enjoy for the delicious gossips, its a place where we come to see whats out there with other people, and whats wrong in it.And you know i also sometimes thought, how much i'll earn out of this but now it really doesnt matter, anything to be with friends!!

I don't think
you should change a thing. People are often critical because of their own insecurities, not because they really have views on the person or their artistic talents. You have real talent.

not from the heart is NOT one of them. I would say the dear people that I have met here have been well worth every single penny. Ignore the clown that sent the email, seems to me they may feel a bit threatened by you in some way.

Avant-Garde,
I've felt both ways about blogging. Basically, I think Ariala's right: it's whatever you put into it. And the friendship and camaraderie in this disconnected, lonely world are not nothing, you know. This blog, this record right now of the birth of your son, I think you should save, for yourself and maybe for your wife and children later. It's precious.

Yes, it CAN be all of those things in your headlilne, if that is the experience one chooses, and the mindset one approaches it with. I applaud you for deciding to continue to write the posts the way you feel drawn to do so. Remember, you cannot be all things to all people, but you CAN be true to yourself at all times.
