Don't ever stop singing
I studied voice when I was in my early 20s, but I was too afraid to really sing in front of people. I had such crippling stage fright that I just couldn't do it. My brother had made smart aleck remarks about my singing when I was a kid, so I believed what he said and I thought I was awful. I let it shut me down for 20 years.
A year or so ago, I started going to a small country church near my home. The short version of this story is that God started dealing with me to sing. The first night I went to the church platform to sing, I was terrified, but I got through it, and everybody loved my song and clapped. To increase my confidence, I went back to studying voice.
Now my church has made me songleader, and I'm learning accordion and keyboard. People enjoy hearing me sing.
Never, never stop singing. God bless you and that voice.

Christy
I am glad you didn't quit singing because of one person. Yes that would be quite a role if you could land it! Let me know if you do my friend!!
In the meantime........keep singing!!

Glad you didn't give up...I was told I'm too "breathy" when I sing, but I
have taken voice lessons and I know the way you're supposed to sing, but I like soft, not operatic, so I don't use the "voice" they taught me, but I do use the methods of singing properly so I don't ruin my voice.
Interesting post! Thanks!
