I just love Jewish humour! So dry, self-deprecating and gentle

I love the jewish mother and daugther conversation! This reminds
me so much of how my grandma used to talk to my mom.  Thanks for the funnies!  And again...take care of yourself...you're so damn busy!

That is hysterical!! "I'm in the silence".....I have to remember that one!  Please give us some posts....the stories you hint at some times are so tantalizing.   I paused because of the stereotypes...but, stereotypes are stereotypes because they're so dang funny so I just tried to hit everyone...did you see Strat's comment about the friend with the answering machine?  My mom isn't Jewish, but she reminds me so much of a friend's mom who is that I tell her I just know how she spent one prior life.  Not everyone probably appreciated that one if they haven't known and loved such a woman...

krisles--
I got a lot of laughs out of these, although they do perpetuate stereotypes.  I had a Jewish mother who divorced her second husband after 24 years, took up Siddha Yoga, fell in love with the leader, Baba Muktananda, moved to India for a while to become an "Indian nun", then lived as a vagabond for the rest of her life.  Whenever she couldn't deal with the real world, she'd put up a sign that said "Do Not Disturb.  I am in The Silence."

Those are great, Kris!!

The one about the Jewish mother is especially hilarious. Reminds me of a girl I knew in Atlanta, who would entertain us for hours at a time just playing her answering machine.
