- Go to Deflecting The Public's Attention From Libby, Bush Nominates Alito
Hand in glove, writersjourney. Not only are the neocons overly corporate-
leaning, most are also part of the religious right. But never let it be said that religion is above dabbling in big business. Religion is big business. And you're right about these conservative judges going for the private or business interest over that of the public. Hell, look at the Imminent Domain issue...

Are these "God's" Judges, or Wall Street's?
It occurs to me that these court nominees have much less to do with the religion/abortion debate than the media and both political parties are making it out to be, and much more to do with stacking the courts with judges who are very very friendly to Wall Street and the financial institutions.
Bush's judges who were voted through last spring, after the threat of the so-called nuclear option (which will probably be used this time around, with disastrous results for future senate proceedings) were members of a movement to "restore" the interpretation of the Constitution to what it was in 1927, before the New Deal.
These are people who believe that private property trumps the public interest. It was quite telling when the only conservatives who came out strongly for Harriet Miers were Business organizations.
If the judicial nominees are about appointing the "religious right," it's funny how often the religious right turn out to be a blessing for Wall Street and City of London bankers.

Ah, Fox News, Lisa. Bush's media mouthpiece. Paying lip service to
unbiased news coverage and doing nothing but spinning, propagandizing, and promoting the Bush administration and its far right agenda, making idiots like Sean Hannity richer than Midas.

So true to his nature...
Did you notice too that our alert status has been "Elevated" again. Impeccible timing I think. Oh, yeah, to help that it was announced that the #2 Al-Queda member escaped...when? Oh, in July. I guess communications were down since it took til November 1 to notify the public. That was reported on Fox News yesterday...timing is everything.
