Yes, I'm with you on this. But even with the pain of excising certain words, phrases and, yes, whole paragraphs, it's still US doing it to our offspring. When a professional editor goes to work on our offspring and rejects EVERYTHING we wrote, well----

Symphony, easy does it.
It wouldn't do to tire yourself out too much. Pace yourself well.

Generally speaking
the fewer the words the better the writing.

How very interesting way of putting it.

Bright!
Packrats must be the only people who don't have support groups. When I demit office, the presidency is yours.   Drives me nuts when my smilies quit. Ah well.

If you ever resign that position keep in mind that I could take over without any training! :-) My smilies aren't working..

Bright,
You are a wise one....It doesn't help that I'm the president of the packrat gang!

I do have a understanding of what you are saying. I didn't think you could kill your writing and after reading your comment, I see that I was right and you saved it!

Ginnie, sometimes what I do

is to cut those parts I can't bear to lose and save them to one file, just in case I can use them elsehwhere. Talk about being unable to let go.

I'm rewriting and it feels just as you described!
