Yes, I'm with you on this. But even with the pain of excising certain words, phrases and, yes, whole paragraphs, it's still US doing it to our offspring. When a professional editor goes to work on our offspring and rejects EVERYTHING we wrote, well----

Ginnie, sometimes what I do
is to cut those parts I can't bear to lose and save them to one file, just in case I can use them elsehwhere. Talk about being unable to let go.
