Caught myself in a Slip Mahoneyism today (I said it on purpose-does that count?). Anyway, when I dropped something off at my daughter's school, I said to the office secretary (WARNING: obscure ancient history reference coming!!), "Beware of geeks bearing gifts." She laughed, then I explained that the saying had ancient roots. It was coined when Athenian IT people dropped off laptops infected with the Trojan virus to the city of Troy She then asked me to leave quietly before she called Security.

The definition does make it seem it would work, but I agree the word equity just doesn't put me in the same frame of mind that equality does.

equity made me think in accounting terms... so that got a laugh, but
reading the definition, I suppose it works?
