Fwmystic,
Tragic that the electronic age has facilitated the destruction of America! German Corporations are not allowed to lose their German identity! Chinese and Japanese follow their model! But American Executives are atracted to the "fast buck"!

Too late Glenn!
America was sold out long ago by the multi-national corporations who have no loyality to any nation or way of life. Outsourcing is the name of the game, most of their holdings are in foriegn tax haven countries and they resent what little taxes they have to pay for polluting the environment.

Yes Glennb,
Wouldn't it be nice if the media really did report all the facts and the government really told the truth. That's not Utopia, it's just how it should be.

Dryten,
I will sign up for that today! Forget about the garbage that we owe these people our vote because they have been in public life all our lives! We need to go back to the original purpose of the Constitution! New ideas and new faces through term limits! It would be much easier to prosecute these people if they were not so closely linked.

Fionajean,
Interesting how we are conditioned to expect the best from Government, Media, and Industry? Sadly in most cases we are left with carnage and destruction in their wake! Could we have a sane and just Planet? I am not looking for a Utopic existence, I would like to see everyone armed with the "real" facts though (George Bush made the distinction and I find it a very curious look at his mental state??)

Same shit the Apartheid govenrment
used to sprout. America was financing terrorists, etc. They used to tell us that the people in locations got free water and electricity and schooling etc.

Fionajean,

There is no effort here to change anything! We, Americans are really in a fog about the realities of life on the Planet. The TV and CABLE people have us all locked in a struggle against "Reality"! Are you aware that George Will once stated: "South Africans will explode Atomic Bombs and commit mass suicide before they would give up or surrender Apartheid and Minority Rule"! I will take a look at the writing you suggested!

Hi Glennb
Just right off topic - Have you read Rhiannon1's "I Hate Bullies?
It's fiction but she based it on what she thought the feelings of that American soldier that was accused of abuse of prisoners would be. Very interesting read - In fact very scary - I seriously thoughtit was real and I thought - God, this woman needs serious help.

Hi, Glennb
This same problem exists throughout the world. Do you know that all South Africa's export quality fruit is exported. In other words - The fruit you get is better than the fruit we get. Also, although there is a proudly South African campaign on the go, it is difficult to compete on a local level with prices of products made especially in China and India etc. The USA can no longer be considered the super-power it once was and analysts seem to think that China will take that role in future. As you say, you can not rely on government to do everythinbg for you - You have to get up and do it yourself.
