Go to Religion in the Modern World

- Go to Bopping gophers, the old arcade game --- so why not bopping Christians?
You have the start of a whole theme park!
Starting with "Whack a Mormon."...

any reference to hell-fire
which is really a trash heap (dereliction, good reference maybe to reincarnation, meaning peole could be reborn as derelicts?)
the people who are separated to go there happen to be religious people.
the criteria for who goes and who doesn't has nothing to do with belief in god.
it has to do with helping other people, particularly the lower castes of society.
"inasmuch as you have done it unto the LEAST of these, you have done it unto me."
could it be that these religious people and Christians and such who ignore the plight of the lowest just might be consigned to live a life of the lowest next time around?
but this is just speculation, just like NOPEACE's statements are.

mikebrown -- right on...it's just basic common sense isn't it?
This omnipotent being they have created is so vain that he condemns people for eternity for doubting his existence? I think of Jesus Christ in the same manner, a man of unusual perceptive ability that was given the dubious honour of being dubbed the long awaited messiah. What his fan club has done in his name since that time is completely laughable. That's why I reduced these knuckleheads to an arcade game, that's what they have turned it into.

it's hard to argue with people that have no sense at all
but good luck, gomedome.
honestly, burning all the non-believers in hell? do you REALLY think that's something jesus would say?
i mean, i'm not a christian (or anything else, for that matter, as far as mass religion is concerned), but i DO believe there may have been a prophet named Jesus with some good ideas (and mythology sorta took over from there). but can you really imagine someone who preaches kindness and tolerance saying that if you don't believe a HIGHLY suspicious story created thousands of years ago, you will burn in hellfire for eternity?
come on, man.

NOPEACE -- you keep forgetting that the idea of an omnipotent skydaddy is
your delusion, not mine... and I sleep very well at night...thank you. If this mythical creature that people such as yourself have built such a facade around actually exists, he will have no qualms with the amount of respect I am showing his creation. The problem lies in the fact that too many people think that adhering to some book is a form of respect or worship. Try living it instead of talking about it.

If you created something, wouldn't you want it to acknowledge your exstience and give you respect?
If you had children, and you set rules for them and told them if they break those rules that you would punish them and you even told them how harsh the punishment would be and they disobeyed you anyway, would you not punish them?
But you don't have to believe, whatever helps you sleep at night and whatever makes your life easier.

NOPEACE - cling to that notion -- it helps to solidify the delusion that
there is a conscious entity who actually cares how human beings worship him.

Or maybe one day God should just take all the non-believers and burned them in hell for oh say...Eternity.
