Archiew,
Thanks for the read. And people with nothing to say are most offended by the debate!

Fionajean,
Thank you for the read! I am neither angry nor bitter! I think confronting the ills of the Planet is as important as promoting redemption and healing! The former requires greater courage because it produces greater peace!

Blocked?
Sometimes one gets blocked from a blog because their comments force thinking, and thinking is all too often uncomfortable!

HI Glennb
That's a very sad reality that you've pointed out there. As you say there is no on/off switch and that's why those that were racist in the old SA are still so today. That's why I was saying racism is a state of mind. That's also why we have embedded rights into the constitution to protect all the people. I wish I could say that everything is hunky-dory over here but it ain't. There are a lot of South Africans, eg my generation in particular that where brought up completely unaware of the group areas act and so forth. I was lucky in that my uncle lived in a rural area where the laws weren't so enforced and I got to play with kids of other races. We never knew we were "different" from each other. With censorship laws being as they were (I was born in 1975), we never got to see the actual shit the government put everyone else through. Most South Africans now want to move away from the past - Most South Africans of my generation actually had no control over the government back then. I also only came of age to vote in 1994 when the first fair elections were held. That's why I'm so passionate about it now. The wrongs of the past must be redressed but there also has to be healing as well. I, as I have said before, may be naive but I believe that everyone is a human being and should be treated as such. I know I don't like to be judged as a racist just 'cos I'm a white South African. I personally couldn't give a shit what colour, creed, etc you are and I try to treat everyone with respect. Don't get me wrong I'm not St Theresa, I do have a problem with stupid people (I'm really trying to work on it), I just don't have patience with someone who is just plain thick.
Oh gosh, why don't I just take over your whole blog while I'm at it. Nearly done. I agree with you that I don't have the right to tell others not to read your blog and so I won't. I will also leave you in my link list thingie as well so others can find you.
I really believe that you're angry but also very passionate. Passionate people can change the world. Come on, find an outlet for that and change your country one person at a time. That's what I try to do here.

FactorFiction,
Then I think I better go and re-edit the Post! No compliments allowed! It is great when a reader can detect the true motive behind a writing. We can all love George Bush because he is a "man of conviction", but we had better make sure he has more than George Bush in mind when he invades and occupies a sovereign nation!
You are correct only a vile and evil person would wish harm to the people dying in Iraq (all), because they hate George Bush! George Bush might have been misled to accept that taking over a sovereign Iraq would be easy ("slam dunk"). But, George Bush should be made accountable, because this might not have been such a good idea.

Fionjean,
There is a difference! Being a Racist and committing a criminal act based on your Racist beliefs! From my understanding (I have no direct knowledge) White South Africans accepted their past as vile and are beginning to join the human race! There is still some question in my mind whether there is a "Racist" switch that determines how you behave in society? With "on or off" positions, depending on how much you are allowed to get away with??
Since nobody was punished?? Where did these people go? Maybe the switch is in the "off" position?

Actually Offbeats...
There was a compliment in that post also. Thought I was seeing things.
But, Glennb, I can't say that I have met any white folks who are happy with our being in Iraq. True I don't hobnob with politicians. But upper middle class around here seems quite disgusted at the money being spent there even if they "overlook" the human cost. There are also many middle class white folk who pray a lot for sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, etc. who are over there at the moment.

Okay, your on, but you better be nice. I don't like words like the "N" word or the "whitey" word. So remember there is a code of conduct.
Now, I will wait for something nice from GlenB...

Ah, Glennb
The phrase "The pot calling the kettle black comes to mind." darling. Racism is more than just action. Racism is in thoughts as well. How do you think racists got that way in the first place? The comment that you ended this blog with - ie: "The only people benefiting from the "war-on-terror" are Jews and White Folk" would be construed as racist in terms of the South African constitution and you could taken to the constitutional court and forced to retract the statment and face heavy penalties.

Fwmystic,
Thank you for the comment! It amazes me that not one in the Bush circle have broken ranks? Invading Iraq was a bad idea! The cost will be with us for many, many, years to come. This is not a Reality TV Show! People are dying!

Congrats!
People who think like Justsouno think they can easily keep reality from crashing all around them by simply denying it. Poof, you can no longer comment so your voice no longer exists. What's humorous is that most of the criticism of the Prez is coming from the right, not the left. Some people are just too ignorant to know the difference. BTW, I totally agree with you when you said Offbeat was HOT!

Fionajean,
Did you read my writing or are you simply making an assumption? Where is there one thing that I state that can be considered racist? My observations and opinion of the acts of George Bush suggest to me that he is a Racist. Again "Racism" is a state-of-being that requires an overt act for it to become criminal! And why would you want to influence what others read? Pointing fingers is a dangerous game!

Okay, I give up
Do you write this just to piss people off? You sound like quite a racist yourself. Or is this just a way to get people to visit your blog? Don't worry, I won't put you on my block list but I certainly won't be visiting again and I'll be advising others to avoid you as well. Racism in any form cannot be tolerated.
