Yes that feeling feels very familiar Witchflower
They are supposed to be reassigning me to a less stressful job under the Americans with Disablities Act, but it's happening slowly.

Way to go, Jeff!

You are turning it outward, and I hope it continues to fuel your resolve.  We can't always change a lot about our lives, but if there is any opportunity, it's usually good to take it.  Working for the state. . . can you apply for a completely different type of job or at least one that isn't so stressful?  By the way, I think what you do would cause anyone stress.  Being overloaded plus dealing with real people and their real problems would do this to anyone.

I was a Service Rep at SSA a long time ago.  I remember how depressed and frustrated I would become when I saw people's immediate needs and knew in my heart their financial help was not going to come soon enough.  I had to smile and say we would take care of it and watch hope light in their eyes, knowing once we bumped the problem higher up, the process would slow so much.    It only took 1.5 years for me to burn out.
