Allusions -- Harriet Miers & Bakersfleld Chimp

Thank you very much for this comment.  It's much appreciated.  I'll try to explain where the references in the story come from.

In the summer I  thought it would be funny if Pres. Bush nominated an animal to a federal bench, because I have this personal view that such nominations are always based on personal (political) relationships, and not merit.  It's not a Republican/Democrat distinction; it's just the way it seems to be from my own P/O/V.

So I started a story line where a Texas Supreme Court Justice who was an Ork (Lord of the Rings) would rise to the U.S. Supreme Court.  But then I thought it might be funnier if the Bakersfield Chimp were tried in California for mauling that fellow and his wife, but then acquitted (very Californian), and then appointed to a federal bench by Bush.  So I went that route.  Then, a fit of apparent perversion overtook me, and I was going to create a storyline where the President was going through some 'changes' and the Chimp and he would become uncomfortably close.  Then, the Chimp felt spurned when Bush nominated John Roberts to the S.C., and was put down by animal control officers because he mauled the reporter who broke the news to him about Roberts.  So there's a series of articles along those lines around July 5, and that is what I was referencing.

I threw in a Harriett Miers reference because there's so much noise about how or why she found herself in line for the S.C. nomination.

Thank you again for your comment.  Appreciate same.

I always knew Big Bird was a pussie
Ripping on a beloved American institution always seems to be funny for some reason. Dave Chapelle did something similar on his show where he used Sesame Street-like characters to teach kids what they really needed to know. After reading your satire I started noticing a trend. Whether its muppets with clamydia or your poor, pathetic Big Bird, it never fails to make me laugh, and I don't think I'm alone. Good stuff. I didn't quite get the Harriet Myers/ monkey thing, however. I haven't been reading the news a lot in the last couple weeks, so it might just be that I ignorant. If that's the case and it's not something obvious that i missed, please let me know. I'd like to know what you meant.

To Gloria, mucha gracias para venir leer mi articulo. My written spanish is not wonderful. Anyway, I am impressed on your desire to find substitutes on things that are already giving us hassles and creating a regimented society. Unfortunately niether I can be of any help nor even produce a universally accepted substitute for all the words you mentioned. That is how funny our world is. In my modest opinion, I think that, only God has a solution. Once again, gracias.

ScBoates,
Thanks for checking out my post.  I thought it was really cute when my son thought my other son was actually going to ride way up in the sky.  Children are so very precious.  I appreciate your comment too.  I read your post, but I found it a little difficult for me to understand. I read your 'about me' page and I saw your picture.  You looked pretty serious there, I thought. Anyway, it is nice to meet you. Didn't it say you are an attorney. Guess I'll click back and see.  Have a good day and thanks again for your visit.

Dear Bore Editors:

Wow.  Picking on Big Bird.  Takes big b---s.  And no references to a bodily function!  Nice.  But, 'diseased loogies and poisonous boogers'?  Whattup?

Like, growup.  Already.
