Please try again. There is no reason why you cannot change the description of your blog -- which is displayed in the "About this blog" section -- by going to your Write page and clicking on Edit next to the name of the blog you wish to modify.
Once you are in Edit mode, please click on the "Change name, description or category" link and make the changes you wish to make. Please make sure you click on the "Save Changes" button once you are done making changes.
If the changes have been saved successfully you will be taken back to the Edit page. You can then click on the "Read blog" link to view the blog changes for yourself.
