Flame-thrower,
I do think that dogs and cats can see into other realms than we can. Weird! Thanks for reading!

I did like the way you put out things, no! words in your posts. As for the barking or none stopping madening barkings of dogs, Ithink it is because they see some forces or spirits we can't see. Like witches and wizards. That is what drives them mad. I can assure you that, if you observe keenly, the dog barks and runs as if following something and if there are dogs in the next compound they do the same.

Offbeats, I know things, I SMELL things, I TASTE things....
I could go on and on about the "things" but most are not volunteered efforts on my part!!

Military,
Same rules apply in my house. NO BEGGING for food. Now, as far as your cat-sitting dilemma? It's called a water gun or squirt bottle and a big, "NO!" while shooting. That'll learn 'em!!

Oh, Symph, cats DO have their own language!
And can see through other realms that we humans normally can't, too! Strange creatures they are!!

Jimmy, well, at least he's entertaining the others. But,

why can't he do it when I'm at work??

J-Mum, LOL! But, I bet your singing is much better than
his barking!

Sir Strat, You're right. I agree.
I'd much rather listen to the yammering pie holes of dogs than the I.P. Good point.

Spiffy
Yep, it is a secret language. Thanks for telling me what they have been saying all these years! Being a vet does have it perks ( you know things)

LOL!

I had a lab that made these odd noises when he wanted my attention.  There were days that I swore he was trying to "talk" to me.

I have rules for my pets:  They don't beg for food ever as it makes me crazy and they are not allowed to bark (or meow) like idiots.

any suggestions for the overly needed obnoxious cat I am babysitting?  This thing carries on like an idiot if I am not petting her.  I can't wait for her to GO HOME!

but then I am the one who tells my friends that cats have a secret life and world when they are out and about...even go to cats nighclubs...

I know that dog. I have thought about singing while he barked. If he could stand my singing then hey he has a right to bark. He has a total vocabulary of three syllables. A really fun read. BB

Actually, I know a lot of people who yammer just like that.
It's an incessant, meaningless noise, sort of like the sound a coffee maker emits when there's not enough water in it.

Much as I hate to hear it, I prefer the incessant yapping of the dog to the incessant yapping of what you so accurately have dubbed "The I.P."

Spiffy,

Kind o' cranky tonight?  I know I am.  I have been all day.  I'm not going to tell about it because I would just get crankier.  I hope that thinking you sound cranky is a mistake.  Sometimes when I feel cranky, I think everyone sounds cranky.  Why would someone do something that stupid?  I don't have a clue.

I better shut up now.

HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!!   jj

T,
I know. You should call your mom "Ma" once just for revenge and shits n' giggles. Well, nah, maybe not.

That's what Petie does....he's bored...
I know it.  He wants a buddy.  I don't know what to do with him, because I can't play with him all the time, and Scrapper isn't always up for it.  Some dogs, and cats, for that matter, constantly talk and you wonder like what IS it already?  Even if you do everything possible.  Maybe it's possible that that they are reincarned friends trying to tell us secrets and getting really irritated that we don't get what they are saying.  Or maybe they wonder why WE never shut up!  (nice hey hey visual....I also picture me following my Mom around...Ma Ma Ma Ma....you know how she loves that word ).

MayB,
I really think that was a real "conversation" between some neighborhood dogs. I can't prove it, but I am suspecting.
