It's kind of hectic right now. We are trying to get things done before he gets here, so that we can focus on his care. I don't know who's busier: me or my wife.

avant-garde,
After all my past pregnancy's I can definitely understand taking a nap during his program.  Seems being tired goes along with 'being with child.'  I wish you all,  the best.

My wife and I sit and watch it some. She's eight months pregnant, so most of the time she prefers a nap.

Avant,

We discover all the patterns in our lives only if we are willing to take the time to find out that they are there.

Acceptance is the key. It allows us to reflect on our lives without the feelings of guilt and fear. Then more is understood than what we want and what we are not getting.

I remember what Dr. Phil said one day: 'If you're not going forward, you're going backward. There is no place of standing still.'

Seeing that breaks the cycle, so to speak. When we stop wishing for freedom, the bondage becomes much less acute.

It is a cycle. I'm glad you're awakening from it.

And a victimizer is always justified and innocent. I think it's no coincidence that most everyone in jail claims innocence.

That's a big one for me, because I was taught that control means love, and care, and concern. It doesn't. It means fear.

That's just it. Last year at this time, the mountains were gleaming with color. The leaves are mostly still green, save for the poplars. The sourgums are bare for the most part. It's a disappointment.

You are right......
being content in exactly the  situation we are in is a way of being happy!

Avant....definite food for thought
...how we choose to keep repeating mistakes over & over and yet not realize that the pattern(s) are NOT us & exerting effort won't remove them.  When we struggle with ego, then the only loser is ourselves.  How simple and yet complex the challenge is to just let go.

I have held others responsible. And became angry at what seemed to be an illusion.then my health went to hell, and wanting and trying each day took over.Even  in the sense of knowing what it is, I still want to hear it is real. Then more problems cause more blame like a growing cycle.

Man, you hit it with this one! The whole abandonment thing was right on.

Once we feel we've been victimized we become victimizers unless we heal the pattern of brokenness in ourselves.  Good post!

It was spectacular for us,
because it’s been a very hot summer here.  We do need to go back when the leaves are in full color.  You should give us a fall photo in your blog some time.

Yes, I'm very near it. The leaves haven't changed very well this year. I think the dry September and the wet summer had something to do with it. It's been very pleasant here, though.

I read that you live near the Blue Ridge Parkway!
My son and I spent a day driving it recently in our jeep.  I really need to do a post about it.  He is just learning to drive and it was a fun challenge for him.  We had a great time!

But the search must go on.
To seek and find and then seek some more!  That, my friend, is the essence of man!

I know that all you say is true. Why is it that we are able to understand what needs to be done, but that it's still so hard for us to take action? Frustrating.
