GomeDome,

I find some of the statements that you made in regards to Janes Opinion quite interesting. For instance, you imply that you have great respect for some christians because they according to "your" opinion show respect to others pertaining to belieft.  Is this because you are unwilling to show respect to those who express belief in their christianity simply because you do not agree with the way that they express it.  That seems to say to me that as a non-believer, unless people practice christianity the way that "you" think they should practice it, they are not worthy or your respect? That would be very hypocritical of you if that is the case.

Then you stated to Jane that she err's in suggesting that people jump on her beliefs for vocualizing her opinion on gay rights. Maybe no one has jumped on her over her beliefs her on blogit but I personally cannot make that statement, since my beliefs have been attacked since day one.  Would I be misinterpreting everyone elses statements on my beliefs as well? I understand that you believe what others are attacking are our "reasoning first and then the line you yourself chose to blurr between your beliefs and the rights of other members of society." However, for them to attack that reasoning, they deny us for who we are and want us to deny the words of God to please them.  Most of them such as your self have read either excerpts or the entire bible and know where the logic and reasoning that we use come from.  Is it simply that you just don't agree with the bible is why you don't believe in God? I believe that's another subject entirely but so often, those he seek to shut up christians use passages from the bible to try to contradict what we are saying.

Again, I can accept the fact that there are those such as yourself that choose not to believe in God or his words in the bible. However, atheist must also understand that Christians do have the right to speak out against what they believe is wrong just as you may feel obligated to speak against the logic of the christian teachings.  The debate arrives when the non-believer responds to the christian statements against subjects as homosexuality and then expect the christian to just "shut up" and that never going to happen.

You mentioned that we should "Start treating the rest of the world with a little respect, stop trying to run/ruin everyone else's live's..." That's the same thing we are saying about the non-believers.

You also stated that we have "A belief system that asks it's adherants to believe in magic, ignore scientific discovery, exclude all who do not believe, has expansionist doctrines designed to continuously recruit new adherants and contains a doomsday scenario that may be brought to reality by those very adherants."

First off, where's the magic?  Neither the bible or christians profess anything to do with "magic," I don't even understand where that comes from so I won't speak on it without further details.

Secondly, we ignore scientific discovery.  "Science," yeah right. God asked Job by saying "Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?" I challenge you to read (Job 38:1-39) And you tell me how "science" explains it...if you are able to.

Thirdly, you mentioned that we exclude all who do not believe.  We don't exclude non-believers, we are teaching you the word just as we were taught it. The bible says; "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." We must know the Word of God for our faith to increase. Many times, we take only a portion of His Word and quote it and expect answers, when we must learn other portions that work along with the portion we are quoting. An example would be if we do pray a prayer of faith, yet do not obey God, our faith would be in vain. Also, it was Jesus who said "He that is not with me is against me..." (Luke 11:23). If anyone excludes the non-believers, its the non-believers themselves.

Also, I've never seen a "membership drive" to attract new christians and I doubt you have either. People come to the church because they want to.  I often think it is those who are non-believers trying to force others to believe the same thing they do not the other way around.  Maybe it's because the only thing they have to believe in is the everyday grind and struggles of life with no joy of a after life.  You know what they say...misery  loves company.
