That's tragic, not learning how to deal with our anger,
but it's all too common.

Trust me. . , there are some people who NEVER outgrow taking out their anger on others.

Sassy, I agree that they obviously needed medication.
The sad thing is that too many people never get ahead because they are too busy trying to get or stay even with other people. I've had this problem myself and it is with determination and God holding my hand that I make it through some days. Envy, plus an inability to deal with our feelings of inadequacy can be a bitch. Thanks for sharing.

I have witnessed these fits of rage
I worked at a major corporation in 1996, and I was promoted and ended up being equal to two employee's that had been there for 5 years. My pay was the same as theirs after only being employed with the company for 1 year. These two women did not handle it well, and made my life miserable. We were all in our 30's at the time, but they were acting like teenagers. They watched everything that I did, and reported my every move. We had several blow outs, meetings with the supervisor, and so much tension that I hated going to work. I would have never told them what I made per hour, and the company should have realized their mistake in announcing raises. I eventually found work elsewhere. It happens in the best down to the worst of companies. A good dose of prozac is what these two women needed.

Libertine,
I have to agree with you. Better to pout in private than wreak havoc in the office.

Tapsel, you know
I think it's way past time I took that eye down.
I think I lost my mind a long time ago! The good thing is, I'll at least admit that some of my marbles are loose.

TF, I am so happy to see you back again!
I'll be right over to see what you've been up to.
I can deal with people who throw tantrums and get over themselves after they have got rid of their anger. The ones I find difficult to deal with are the 'stewers'. They are dangerous. They sit, watch and stew over things that they have no control over. Then they are a short walk away from creating mischief based on their distontentment.

Ginnie,
It's good to know that these 'symptoms' are recognized and pro-active steps being taken to deal with them by some organzations.

I generally tend to tuck my tail between my legs and pout in private in such situations. Not sure how healthy that is, but it's better than the alternative I guess!

I really do love a good temper tantrum. I feel refreshed. All of my anger disappears. I don't care if people stare at me....now what were we talking about? Did somebody say 'grow up?' NEVER!!!!

Interesting word....
...Steve has been taking a course on Emotional Intelligence all week and this scenario is similar to ones they cover. E.I. in management is apparently a wave of the future..happening now too. Steve uses this in training now.

the title caught my eye....I have a poem entitled My Own Enemy....and my last two lines are, "My worst enemy is me, myself and I." So true it can be! Awesome point.
