Your comment touched me.....it was a really emotionally mixed up experience.....happy/sad/funny.  From the 4th grade, when he gave me a little Whitman's box of chocolates in my Valentine's Day sack, John and I were always kind of  "ships that passed...." I was with Donny, and during the times we were broken up, John was the only guy at our school I was ever remotely interested in, and there always was this chemistry between us, but he would be going with someone else when I was free....and so we just had this kind of lightly flirtatious friendship.  The class chose the escort, and there was never a question in my mind but that John was who it would be.  If I hadn't moved at the end of my junior year....Donny and I had broken up then and he had gone to college so we probably wouldn't have made up that time....John and I might have actually gotten together finally...woulda, coulda, shoulda.....  We had quite an interesting conversation...

Krisles...This is a tender tale...made me we want to shed a tear or two....
When you're in high school, it is so important at that time to fit in, be accepted, or be admired, etc. I am so glad you were Queen. That gown sounded so lovely and it made your mom really proud. You wrote this tenderly and I enjoyed the intertwined young bodies of you and John, and he so desperately trying to keep your gown above your ankles, haha...What made me sad were the missed opportunities and his saying he had had fantasies of you all those years. I wanted you two to walk off into the sunset together. Darn.
