apocalyptic stories
have existed since the dawn of humans
nothing to say they wno't into the forseeable (sic) future
but yeah there's lots of money to be made on scaring people like a boogie man

Of course I believe you; but I also believe roads should not be built through wilderness, the slaughtering industry should be cut by 75%, and very hard, strict regulations for humane treatment imposed on the rest; I believe all use of animals in laboratories should be prohibited; I believe in single-payer National Health Insurance, beginning with children, and...well, you get it.  So what does that make me in today's social climate--a secular humanist unbeliever.  I've been doing research on the net, and have found an empire of Christian novels.  The theme of one of them is that a previously skeptical reporter (who is converted in the process of the story) and a plucky minister fight an evil New Age plot to destroy the human race.  I was thinking of you.  Maybe a way for you to make some money.  Research a bunch of these things, give yourself a pseudonym or nom de plume and write one.  There is a large market for them, it seems.  Hemlocker

Xeno – Exactly.
We are so busy debating about prehistoric concepts of God that we often fail to pursue God into modernity. We must not deny God simply because we cannot relate to archaic doctrines set up thousands of years ago. We must purse God into modernity. Excellent perception here my friend.

this was an awesome post. you described the idea of dispensationalism without even knowing it, i think. perhaps you were aware. God hasn't changed, we have. Paul said, "I press on," that he would keep going, he was never satisfied with what he had found.

Excellent! Stop seeking and you die and anything that you find is dead.
