Good post. It's wierd that the party of 'keeping government out of our lives' is the same party that wants government to get involved and tell us what we can and cannot do.

In California the CHP (Ca. Highway Patrol) has made it a policy to leave people with medical marijuana alone, as in they can keep their medicine and don't have to worry about the "man" seizing it.
Individual cities I am sure have their own rules.
I am sure a street cop would still try and make you feel like a criminal.
