JanesOpinion - you are too funny -- my comment is exactly what Christianity
is sending as a message, it has no room for non believers, gays or persons of other faiths. It routinely puts the message forth that Jesus Christ is the only way. I've even seen you put those exact words to print so please spare us your holier than thou attitude.

That's an awfully judgmental statement, Gome, the
"my way or be damned comment of yours." The comment I have made on my posts several times is that it is God who knows and judges peoples' hearts and understands their thoughts; judgment belongs to God. I have come out very strongly in support of my beliefs and moral values, but I have NOT condemend others if they don't believe as I do. So please, be careful regarding your accusations. You might just end up with four fingers pointing back at you.

JanesOpinion -- I think that everyone is aware that Christianity is making
inroads amongst the poorly educated and/or politically or religiously oppressed. That is not news nor unusual. What is unusual however is the growth of Christianity in continental USA. A trend that is in complete reverse from the rest of the developed world. This growth does not bode well for everyone else and typically people such as yourself take a "follow our way" or be damned attitude. It would never occur to you that so called missionary work is sometimes nothing more than the outright pollution of another culture. But that doesn't seem to matter to those who think they are entitled to do so.

EVERYTHIHNG HAS A PLACE AND TIME
In god I trust but some people say it like it's a must, to my understanding he loves all of us
So why the fuck do you thank him for a victory or winning a prize, like he choose you over me, you
Stupid ass can't you see that's what you're saying indirectly or are too busy trying to convince yorself that
You believe or have just gotten introduced to the thought of living life for
All eternity, and are now dropping to your knees
In every single time of need, that shit's funny to me, come on it's bad enough he was used to win the
Presidency
Besides thanking him recklessly makes you no different then me,
now y'all can go ahead jugde based on this piece of poetry, but before you do
There's a place I want you to kiss niece and wetly

Jane, I didn't say people wouldn't die for their faith, but I'm trying to
say they shouldn't have to. Intolerance and evil causes both sides to demand death in exchange for belief. It shouldn't be that way...

If you or Ariala or Kooka had any idea re the thousands upon thousands
who would willingly die rather than forsake their new found faith in Christ. There are Christians all over the world, likely even millions, who would rather be fed to the lions (as you so crassly mention) than be forced to give up Christianity. And many are people whom you and others would say have been "indoctrinated" by American missionaries.
Women turn to Christianity from Islam because they realize that Christ gives them value, they are equal to men in God's eyes when, under the system of Islam, their word is worth about 1/4 or so of a man's.
In India, the "Untouchables" are flocking to Christianity because they realize that, in God's eyes they have value, that God created them and loves them and is willing to touch them with His love. No one is twisting their arms to do this. They are hungrily searching for the truth, and then when they find it, they have such peace.
In China, people would rather die than be forced to believe that the atheism of the State is their religion. They accept imprisonment and torture gladly, and frequently end up converting fellow Chinese prisoners (and guards) to Christianity.
The fact is that many of these Christians from different cultures experience Christ for themselves and are willing to face death in order to share their faith with others of their own culture. In spite of overwhelming arrogance (such as yours) and hatred from authorities. Instead, they look for a city whose builder and maker is God. Their perspective is eternal. Yours, sadly, appears to be limited to the confines of this earth.

kooka_lives -- that's it exactly -- all other religions are inferior and
all other persons adhering to other religions or professing non belief are inferior. There is no doubt that if they had their way we would all be living by their version of belief.
I was wondering if anyone was going to recognize the article I clipped. A former blogger used the exact same article to demonstrate how Christians were in fact being persecuted.

Ariala - you are absolutely correct -- no one wants to be persecuted and I
would go as far as to say that if Christians ever met up with real persecution instead of the their manufactured version they would be yelping like little puppies. Advancing a higher and nobler purpose is a nice idea until it runs into reality. That being that the religious right has only one version of that higher and nobler purpose...their version, according to them and prescribed by them. Anyone foolish enough to expect a fair shake from them will get run over and ground into the dirt.

Gome, with all due respect, no Christian or atheist wants to be persecuted
or fed to the lions for their faith or lack thereof...this is why we must maintain a complete separation of church and state --so you can keep putting down the Christians and the variety of different types of Christians can keep putting you and each other down OR hopefully, everyone can stop the ditching of each other's beliefs and start promoting something higher and nobler - love for each other and freedom to follow the path one chooses to follow. I can keep hoping for that, despite everything pointing toward ridicule and intolerance

Now for the real irony
If many of the Christians had their way, we would be no different of a society, just with Christianity as the state religion. That does seem to be the level of 'freedom' many believers here seem to be pushing for. A church state is os wrong in their eyes when it is a different religion than their own, but is what should be set up here at home just following the right religion. They only see it as wrong when it does not agree with them and their views.
