Factor, I haven't thought about candy corn in a while. Here's my take
on those. Who the hell thought, "Hey, lets take this candy which tastes like orangy sugary stuff and shape it into kernals of corn!" What?

Spitfire, they still make poprocks.
But, having tried them within the past year, I can report that it's not an adult thing. This from someone who just ate candy corn a few minutes ago.

You worded it right. I read it wrong. I just re-read it. (It's been a long ass day!) Anyway, do you think that's the name of it? Lick em Sticks? I think it was. Used to make me bounce off the walls. Not like I needed any help with that already! Oy. My poor parents!

Blackcat, k, wait. They wouldn't let you have candy
but they'd let you eat straight sugar using a sugar stick as the utensil? Hmmm!! I think that stuff was called Lick 'em Sticks! They had the 3 "pouches" of different flavored sugar, right?

and grass. Someone dared me once... so what do you think I did? Ate it, kept a straight face till i got inside, then went straight to the bathroom and THREW UP VIOLENTLY!! 
Sure paper, off those dot things and when making spit-wads. Other than that, in the candy line - what about those wax things that looked like a little bottle. Had some sort of nasty fruit juice stuff in there. Who knows WHAT that really was. Nevermind biting the top off, I just popped the whole thing in and chewed. Probably digested an awful lot of wax, even though I'd throw away the wad of wax after all flavor was lost.
Whatever made you think of this subject anyhow. Brought back some good memories for sure

I can't remember eating anything that wasn't edible, but I did eat some weird combinations of food, like chinese cabbage and mustard.... yep, that was my fav at the age of 9.

as for candy... my parents would never let me have that candy that was just a spoon made of sugar that you licked and dipped in a container full of more flavored sugar. who thought that up? LOL

Yeah, we had some really weird stuff that they tried to pass off as candy.
Some of them are still around too...
Did you ever have that fizzy thing that you dropped in a glass of water and it made a drink sort of like soda? Sorry, I can't be more specific because I have no clue what it really was. (no not Alka Seltzer - it tasted good in a sickly fizzy sweet kid way)
Jujubes-little colored rocks
those wax things you bit the end off of and drank the sweet liquid inside.
