I'm sure that many people and parents felt the same way about THE WIZARD OF OZ when it first came out.
If we allow Santa Claus, the magic man, in then we must allow other magic. Some is quite harmless and enchanting.
My mother, a great grandmother, following her mother's example, takes all gullible children out into her garden to search for flitting and hiding fairies......she is a long way from being one of Satan's followers or encouraging satanic beliefs.

Thanks for putting this on your blog....It puts me in mind of a classic book by C.S. Lewis--
The Screwtape Letters--in which a devil is writing a series of letters to his nephew about how to win souls for Hell. Uncle Screwtape would be in favor of the Harry Potter phenomenon.

Z, You Are....
...making a bit of a habit of this. First, the worst virus in the world ever ever, and now Harry Potter is promoting satanism.
Look up 'gullible' in a good dictionary. And ponder upon the words you find there.

Zephyr, I hate to say it...
but you've been "got" by
The Onion, one of the web's most notorious satirical news sites. Sorry, but the quotes in the article are all made up. It's a hoax. While there are some salient points on both sides of this argument, the e-mail you got is an almost verbatim quote from
The Onion's article. See my Hoax of the Week blog for more information.
