Hemlocker - yep...the outfit I was in for a brief time was called Bestline
It was Amway's number one competitor way back then but possibly even more of a cult than Amway.

calebs_blogger -- doesn't an experience like that give you that warm fuzzy
feeling about distant relatives? I think Amway has created more than a few rifts between family and friends over the years.

Brings back a memory

I was young and single, in my 20's, and living 700 miles from the nearest close family.  A favorite aunt of mine knew a distant cousin in the Air Force was stationed near me and told me so.  Apparently, she passed word to this cousin through other family members because a couple of weeks later, he contacted me and invited me over to dinner to meet his family.  I accepted and showed up that weekend.  We exchanged pleasantries and smalltalk for a while.  Then he proceeded to tell me how important it was to have your own business, all the tax advantages, etc.  Soon I was getting the whole Amway spiel.  I gracefully declined.  Then he asked me to sign his book as proof I had had dinner there so he could write the cost of my dinner off his taxes!  Somehow, the get-to-know-family-nearby thing just went out the window.

Hey, I've heard
that Amway is the biggest cult of all.  Well-done.  Hemlocker

Ah, yes...
the power of self-love is still strong...who wouldn't feed off the attention of a "visionary" dripping with charisma and old spice...lol.   Glad you finally saw the light...no, the REAL light.  Fanatics and cults rely on one thing to keep their sheep in the fold...constant bombardment and entanglement.

I must say that things got a little out of hand earlier. I am not condoning my actions, they were out of line. I did feel, however, that the arguments coming from you were a little one sided, and that you weren't even reading other people's posts or commenting on them, you were simply trying to get everyone upset. I'd like to hear your opinions on my posts or someone else's with a different POV than you. I hope we can discuss things further, but for now I have to go.

Xeno-x -- don't count on it happening again
There comes a point where we must consider if the other person is having fun.  Mind you... if he asks for it again?

CB_Andrews -- I'm going to delete your last comment as well
Learn some manners boy. It is rude to imply that an original story (one that I have been telling for years) and a Blogit repost from 2 years ago, is based on something that you have drawn a parallel with.

>:-} whew, glad it was just soap! Was beginning to sound like some of
the idiotic cult-like church zealots I dealt with in my past, scary bunch they were, nearly let their crazed teachings run my life completely into the ground! I was feeling so relieved when you told of how you escaped their influence!
