Don't say that 'cause I'm right there with you! I didn't buy the car for that....I just had a weekend to get it done and that was the only car I found I liked....it just happens to do things like that and it was a perfect night...read my post that's titled speeding something and you'll get it...I don't run around doing that normally. I did get a ticket in May but that was because I was driving a damn Jetta with no cruise at 1am on my way back to KC and it had been raining, finally stopped and it just kind of got away from me on a lonely road....whine

Now I know I am getting old! The Impala's 3.5 V6 had plenty of snort and the available 5.3 V8 in the SS doesn't interest me. I can't believe I just said that! Me, a guy who buried the speedometer on my '67 Malibu just to see how dang fast it would go. It was well over 120 but since I couldn't see the needle anymore...who knows. And I haven't uncorked the Grand Am to a top end run yet. I'll bet my son has though.

Mine has a 3.5 litre 255 hp 24valve V6 that's supposed to get to 60 in 7....I don't know anything but I had it up to 125 and it was smooth...it has a 150 speedometer. It has Autostick which I haven't played with. The new one like lilane is getting might have a V8.

I think the new 300's are beautiful! I had to have the bumper/fender/whatever pulled out on the one I bought and looked at them while I waited...I know you will love it. This one I got is a 2002 and it is the sports model with the really low riding thing and the Autostick, which I don't imagine I'll use and the twin exhaust pipes so it makes a lot of noise...all that is fine and so far I really love the car...but it rides so dang low that you have to really watch everything...the regular model doesn't ride as low, but I'm not sure how low it does ride. I didn't want a car payment so that's why I bought used and just happened across this. I know you will love your car...they are so roomy and they are beautiful.

Just hangin' with the groovy kids eh? How much rubber will the 300 lay down? I know you know.

I don't know that I'm recommending....I mean, I'm not sorry I bought it but that dang low riding stuff is soooooo much a guy thing!! It was also funny when I was riding along at night and I remembered I could open the top...so I did...beautiful night....music going strong....and I hear this strange noise....I think something is wrong with the speakers...turn them down...it's the dang tailpipes!!! I sound like a high school boy!!

Hey, those are cool cars but there is no dealer within 75 miles of here so I am reluctant to go that route. In reality, I still think of my 97 Grand Am as "new" parking in the back 40 even with 97,000 on the odo. If I am sucessful at fixing it's major bugaboo, a leaky power steering pump I think I will wait till 2007 and then go used.

I bought a 2002 Chrysler M300 Special (or is it 300M...whatever) last week. It only had 32k on it...loaded with absolutely everything...black with taupe leather...11 speakers...had it up to 125mph (wrote a post about it). I murdered my Avalon last March and had been driving an old Jetta we'd kept for emergencies....it overheated a couple of weeks ago and I had to deal with it on a very hot day in Austin...get it towed, the a/c had crapped out, radiator was broken, etc....I said that's it, rented a car for the weekend and shopped. Thing is, I just looked at the overall outside, inside, amenities, reviewed online, with Consumers Report, checked title, etc....didn't care about the dual exhaust and sports crappola....didn't notice it's only 2" or so off the ground! I've already had to have the front bumper/fender/whatever put back in place....and I was so cautious...really....I've got to drive all over again....and park in the back 40....
sigh. .... but, I really do love driving the thing.
