Hey,you went right by me on your way to Fredricksburg....My mom lives in Llano..and I live in an old lake house of hers on Lake LBJ that I'm re-doing, slowly....kind of between Llano and Marble Falls.  I used to live in Austin, went to school there....just put up a post about the Texas-OU weekend coming up in Dallas.  I grew up in Texas, but have been out of it for many, many years and am coming back home!

Krisles...

He has been there about 15 or so years.  We visited him just a year ago this October, went to the County Line, also Fredericksburg and even (are you ready?) Luckenbach!

Your brother lives in Austin!  I'm about 50mi from County Line and have been there many times over many years!!  Heard lots of great music there.  Has he been in the area long?  Have you visited often?

Ah yesssss Krisles...
"one more radar lover gone.....there's a voice in my head that drives my heel.."  Guitars shriek as the cars streak, and you painted it all with words so true to the hue I had to go comb my hair.  My brother lives in Austin, ever been to the (I hope I am remembering this right) County Line BBQ with the rivers, turtles and ducks?  Great place!

If I ever do make it out to Austin...
maybe we'll fly past one another on one of those long stretches of highway in the night....

Thank you, Sweet Tea! Those horses are so incredible out in that green grass with those Oak trees...Weatherford is the cutting horse kingdom and the cowboys were ridin'...I do love to watch them work those horses....poetry in motion.  I haven't gotten any mail from you?

Blackcat and Cunning
It is impossible for me to be objective about Eric....I've been listening to him since before either of you were sparks in your fathers' eyes....I love him, in every group he's played in, solo...in every genre, every mood.  I've read a lot of down reviews on Amazon of this new cd because he's too happy.....well, I love being happy with him.  I think one review hit it on the head when they said those reviewers won't let him just be a musician and listen to it that way, judge it that way, instead of as "Eric Clapton"....but, I can't be objective, the man has soul, he's got licks, I've grown up with him...I can't tell you more.

Thank you for your kind review......I feel like you took the ride with me since you share a love of Eric.  And, yes...as a matter of fact, I had the incredible experience of hearing him sing "Danny Boy"....also "Amazing Grace", on a stage as an encore....just him and his guitar....and total silence to an enthralled audience.  Need I describe the tears rolling down my cheeks?  I didn't know his father was a Canadian soldier...haven't read the bio...but the song "My Father's Eyes" is another tear-jerker.  Was it the son who fell out the window? Can you even imagine?  And yet now some fans don't like his new cd because he's too happy, thinking it's affecting his "art". Growth is a foreign concept to some.......it takes listening with new ears.

Oh My Guitar God!

I just finished writing about Mr. Clapton and I hadn't even seen this post first!  It's ESP or DSL or something!  Yeah, so what do you think of the new album?

AWESOME!! Nothing like it, the sky sounds beautiful especially with the horses running along side. The thought of hitting a deer might do some damage, but you didn't and it's all good my friend!!!

All right....

...pull over, lady.   Haha....

Wow, Krisles, this is one of your best ones yet.  Great piece of writing.  Everything so light (well, except for that lead foot ) and flowing and descriptive and evocative.  That's a deep hat you've got there......

11 speakers?  Are you sure you couldn't have squeezed another in there?  I'd love to hear Clapton's "Danny Boy" from 11 speakers.  What a grand rendition that is.  Have you heard it?  If you haven't, I can tell you it's not what you're probably imagining.  Btw, did you know that Eric Clapton's father was a WWII Canadian soldier?  One of those "love 'em and leave 'em" stories, I'm afraid...  In his biography, he says,  "And I realized that the closest I ever came to looking into my father's eyes was when I looked into my son's eyes."  Kind of sad, I've always thought.    Anyway, just doing my bit to keep you updated on Canadian trivia, Krisles....
