Rhiannon,
You do it anywhere, don't you? These days, I don't go anywhere without a notebook. That way, I can write if I get the chance. 'Course I can't do that at the office. It would arouse too much interest.

I do my best writing
in my office, on my bed, in the nude, anywhere I can. The best way to write is to write, write, write, and then, when you stop, write. (And always carry that notebook, for the stray thought, observation, idea or totally off the wall expression that is totally useless.) Rhiannon1

Nickie,
That's a smart move, to leave your bedroom for sleeping. It's not recommended to take all your work there.

Word.smith,
great that it works out for you, but I only sleep in my bedroom. I do my writing downstairs, in my specail corner in the living room, facing the garden. I write best when my sister is not around, and I'm all alone in the house.

Aria, thanks for
sharing. I don't have a notebad by my bed. I have a haphazard system. When I do get a great idea and don't have enough paper, I play it in my brain over and over until I can write it down.

Ginnie,
I've had 2 of those little recorders so far, but they never seem to work for long. I got a brand new one recently for taking minutes and as soon as I got it home from the store, it stopped working. I took it back and the man made it work. As soon as I got it home, it stopped again. I think I threw it in a drawer somewhere.

John,
It's really bad when you can't read your own writing. That comes from scribbling too fast, I guess.

Word-I write anytime as long as the thoughts are flowing. I have a notepad on my bed so while I am sleeping and I have an idea I write it down.

I'm like Mac...
...I'm trying to make notes with a rewrite and realized I can't write anymore! I think it's interesting to hear the place(s) where people write. I'm neurotic too about facing a wall but I have windows on each side of my corner and I'm mostly alone. I am totally nervous about people behind me though! My corner is in the spare room so when we have company I rarely use it...too many around who can creep up behind you! Have you ever tried one of those hand-held tape recorders to use for notes?

I get so irritated nowadays when I have to write longhand, that I don't anymore. When I take notes, I print cos I can no longer read my own handwriting.
