You nor anyone else on the Planet knows why America invaded Iraq! No one has asked George Bush and he has not volunteered a coherent answer. Spare me the, because I am a politicians "I have all the answers routine". It carries no merit here!
The "control" of Iraqi oil has been in place since the Carter administration! It is public record!

I am not Bush fan by any means but as a former politician myself I do know that the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with taking Iraq's oil wealth. If that was the case, gas prices wouldn't be as high as they are right now. The bigger question that we SHOULD be asking as it relates to oil is, since 1991 we have continued to protect Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and they will not increase oil production for us even though we stopped Suddam from annexing their nations. The Saudi Interior minister was quoting as saying in July that if Saudi Arabia were to pump oil at full production, the world would run out of needs for oil before Saudi Arabia would run out of oil. Again, if we had control any oil in the middle east, gas prices would not be toping $3 a gallon.
Also, as silly as it sounds W wanted to invade Iraq to remove Suddam from power because his daddy didn't do it and Suddam made an assassination attempt to kill his daddy. "Aborting black babies" will not decrease crime but maintain democracy DOES require force. As cliche as it sounds, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
