MayB
I don't believe we should show our blogging as examples of our writing, MayB. Blogit is a place to write the first draft, not the sparkling end product, apart from which a lot of our blogging is negative.

The answer is...instance to instance.
Some of our folks here write all the time. Some we're still waiting on.
But blogging isn't edited, so the potential for subjective junk is higher.

Ariala , what kinds of posts were they interested in?
I am not looking so much at it from the point of view of selling articles as I have good outlets but I'm looking at it for showing a body of work.
ginnieb , thanks. It was amazing I felt that way through the midst of a killer neck and headache.
katray , yes, yes. Connecting the dots is the thing but many are perhaps best left as are and just forming a loose image. I guess that's the best part of blogging.
UsualSuspecton I'm feeling the urge. Your new opportunity sounds great. I love spas and was given a voucher to go to one for my birthday.
Thanks

Dave Cryer, the emboldened part of that quote is what I wonder about. I'll send some cake ..whoops i's almost gone.
Realignment is what I'm doing ...... again

This time of year...
seems, without fail, to bring about a feeling of wanting to renew, re-examine and re-invest in ourselves and our goals. I seem to start my life over around this time of year with ridiculous consistency. Maybe you're feeling this urge, too?

Yes, I believe our blogging can serve as a good example of our ability to write. In addition to the actual quality of the posts, you are also demonstrating ability to write regularly, succinctly and to tailor your work for a specified audience.
However, I'm more interested in the cake. The saying 'You can't have your cake and eat it' has always been a strange one to me. What is the point of cake if you can't eat it?
Email me a slice please.
Oh, and Hippo Burpday to you.

Happy Birthday. Libras are a special breed destined to rule the world. Just becuase you haven't written a novel doesn't mean that you've wasted your time. I'm sure you've learned things on here that have made you a better writer. Writers can become better through sheer practice. As to the fact that it's bothering you, it may be a sign to just realign some things in your life so you have more time for what matters to you.

One of the great questions of our time, er , website.
"Is Blogging Writing?".
And it's little cousin, "Are Bloggers Writers?".
For an illustrative parallel to the first question, let's ask, "Are Blonds Stupid?". Some yes, some no, some are some of the time.
Blogging started as exhibitionistic diarying (diarreahing?), sort of a running note in a bottle with return address. But diaries can, with editing and filling, be writing.
So...."Are Bloggers Writers?".
The question might more precisely be, "Are Bloggers Authors?". By the nature of the medium, we "write" (unless we are distlist or sales mongers), but our output is scattered all along the continuums of taste, talent, and strongest versus weakest personal form.
So..."Is This particular Blog/Blogger A Writer and/or An Author?". And "Is he/she writing today, or just blogging?".
Ah, THAT is the question.

I am starting to finally feel a semblense of comfort
in my personal laisons...I am a pathetic orphan and am only just now learning to trust people. It is hard but I am highly motivated as being lonely isn't good for me anymore. I want love. I have lots of the premium choice kind to share.
And speaking of love, I love chocolate cake. And nowthat we're on the subject, youv'e got me fantasizing.
Picture this...
There is a restaurant 'round heah that sells, by the slice or whole, a very equisite cake, of the very chocolate variety.
Chocolate chips baked inside, six layers thick, the most sinful chocolate frosting covering each and every layer, walnuts everywhere and to really take you over the top they drizzle a little hot fudge on it for ya! Ain't it sinful!!! I say, indulge my love....

Happy B-day to you and I think good posts/blogs make for good
writing samples. An editor came through Blogit and emailed me based on what they read, so I have to believe some of the stuff here is worth it. Some of our stuff, well, not fit for man nor beast.
