All I can get with your link is gibberish. However it was made clear by what I have seen that DeLay is being charged with conspiracy in using corporate money in the 2002 elections in texas. That has been right out there, clear as can be. And also it has been building up and most likely was not a surprise at all, since the investigation has been going on for a little bit and the indictment would have started up sooner except it was another Republican who had the say at that time. That is a really weak reasoning and just does not fly.

Isn't this interesting!
To quote you: "I can not find anything where DeLay actually says what really happened and how the mistakes were made, which normally is some of the first things you see coming from people in such a situation."
Isn't it interesting that you won't find that in the indictment, either? That's where any allegations of criminal conduct are supposed to be spelled out in detail so that a meaningful trial can be conducted and the defendants can mount a defense. Here, read it for yourself at http://news.findlaw.com/wp/docs/delay/delay92805ind.pdf. That's why he responded as he did, and he was completely in the right to do so.
