Kiddo75 -- that's a good catchphrase
"It's not like they are going to live your afterlife...is it?" ...it would also make a good blog title.

I have to say , I am a believer. Being brought up as a Baptist, I'm
scared not too...

But no matter what my belief is, (I do not follow any particular Religion...they scare me. Maybe because of all I have seen in my family's attempts to "venture" out when they were offended one Sunday, bringing on a horrifying 4 week gander at other Religions) I respect everyone's beliefs and what it means to them. I actually have a huge respect for Atheism. I may be slaughtered for saying so, but when am I not bitched at for something. Whatever you believe should not matter to someone else either way. It's not like they are going to live your afterlife...is it?

sannhet -- as much as this little discovery put a twinkle in my eye, I am
the first to concede that the use of statistics can be misleading. If not manipulated to suit someone's agenda along the way from poll to print, raw data only tells a small portion of the story.

Gome -
Fascinating statistic. Religious people are more likely to be incarcerated than Atheists. Boy, is that telling, or what!??

Hemlocker -- I'll assume the best of intentions in the sentiment of your
comment. After establishing that athiests have a negative stereotype derived primarly from propaganda and then stating I woud be proud to be included in such a group because they are collectively good citizens, the wording of your comment suggests that you sypathize with someone wrongly identifed with this group. I'm sure you meant it slightly different than how it is perceived.

gomer-
I read and appreciated this post--and I understand your feeling rankled at being called an atheist. Hemlocker
