Rhiannon1, now that's a
stimulating image.

JoeLove, come on, I bet you
do your share of checking yourself out too.

Ca88, get yourself a full length
mirror. You don't want to walk out of the house with toilet paper stuck on your shoe, do you?

Medusa, I know what you mean about
the head chopped off. Glad you enjoyed this piece. I'm trying to get back into the swing of writing again.

fw, I am back, in part,
because of your urging. I know what you mean about seeing your reflection at off moments.

majorj, I have a male friend
who is almost 10 years older than me. We have had a long term relationship. He never wears his glasses when we are together. I always thoughtit was vanity on his part, but maybe it's just that I look bettert that way.

Lensman, hope your still happy
with that mirror in your house. Sorry it's been so long since I responded to any comments, but I'm trying to get back into writing again.

It is very helpful in keeping to a diet and exercize regimen

to do houseowork naked and have mirrors everywhere.  I won't talk about why some are on the ceiling, however.

LOL

We only have one mirror at home. The one over the bathroom sink. I miss not having a full length mirror but I'm getting used to it.

Boy, Cynthia...You know how to make a strong point...
I enjoyed this piece. Nicely done...I look at myself naked, too, closely examining what I like and dislike. I like to think of my head chopped off, too, haha...in a manner of speaking....You have a good partner with you. I love that most men are not concerned about how they look, to the degree we women are. It's refreshing to have him as a good balance in your life. I think society makes women past 35, very much aware of time passing on and how much they may be lacking in the youth department. Sad, but true. I .like exercising in front of a mirror alone.

Cynthia, do I have to include the ones on the bedroom ceiling? Only kidding. Good post.

I shy away from mirrors ...
I think it's true that they steal your soul or something along those lines. Once in a while I will catch my reflection at odd moments and wonder, how is that, is that me? where did the flecks of gray come from? why is my goateee crooked? I turn away as fast as I can.

Remember when to not wear your glasses!
What about computer cameras? Now you can see  the back of your head, etc., without periscoping!

Cyhthia
Ha...the previous owner of the home I recently bought was a woman and the place was almost entirely mirrors.  I got rid of most of them because they were making me jumpy.  It was like having a street mime following me everywhere, imitating everything I did.  However, one whole wall in the living room is mirrored, floor to ceiling, and I've left that untouched because it makes the place appear enormous.  I know that if I removed them, it would seem as if the walls had suddenly closed in.   So they're staying.   Fun post....

Flame-trower, I love your phrase
"operational mechanics of women". I'd love to use this quote of yours sometime. Do I have your permission? I'll give you credit, of course.

Your write ups are highly instructive, for it give a clear and deep understanding of the operational mechanics of women. I never knew that people especially had more than one mirrior for other motives than what we usually think mirriors are meant for.

Silvermoon, your house sounds
like it's set up like my daughters. They have a huge, wall size mirror that makes you feel like you're in a ballet studio.

Tely, something tells me that
you are not vain, that's a plus.

Ginnieb, I know what you mean
about honesty, when it can be painful. RG has that quality too.

I find that the older I get, the less I want to see it.  We have three mirrors in our house.  One fronts the gigantic wall-length wardrobe that came with the house we're renting--once belonging to the previous tenants.  The second mirror is a full-length one that we used in our old apartment, but is now in storage because we don't really need it thanks to the humongous wall-sized mirror.  The third one is in our bathroom, which took us no less than eight months to hang--meaning we had NO bathroom mirror from January until August.  I used a compact mirror for my vanity things, which I had left over from my last visit to America.  No, we don't have many!

Mirrors in the 2 bathrooms, on the cabinets, and I have a hand mirror. And that's about it!

Ohhhh.....what a great ending!!
Now you've got me running around counting mirrors!  I know I have a 7X magnifying one...old age eyes!  I too look in the mirror often and lately I can't believe the image looking back at me!  Why are those lines, that only appeared when I laughed, present at rest?  I sometimes wonder just who is looking back at me.  Somedays are 'worse' than others..somedays I think I'm the 30 year old again, others I'm feeling closer to 60!  I asked Steve to be honest with me a few weeks ago.  I asked him if he thought I'd aged (in looks) since my surgery...he nodded.  Honesty is over-rated!!  Great post Cynthia!  And RG is a sweetie!  (Steve is too, he's just got that honesty thing going on too strongly!)
