renigade3 -- the level of mutual acrimony is an important factor as well
The fun can dissapear in a hurry when one or both of the combatants are really upset, however there is not much we can do if someone gets upset and goes on a crusade.

Yes, but sometimes it is fun to post about. I have on occassion, and it
--like I mentioned--has been fun. Hateful posts directed at others lead nowhere, though.
As for ignoring...I have to do that alot, I'm afraid.

The self discipline needed to ignore someone is a lot more difficult when it must overcome enraged emotions.

Obviously I missed something...However, I do love it when
"attacking" bloggers inadvertantly drive more clicks to their opposition.
