Temple,
I don't know about M's magic treatments, but the skateboard? Well, it's a good thing there's only a couple of  stairs in the house.

fairypower, well, thanks for the advice and I'm sorry
you went through such hell. I haven't even discussed any surgery yet and I'd really rather not think about surgery. It's been only about a month since it happened and I'm hoping to see results from the adjustments and theraputic massages. My next step is a cat scan. However, the professionals I'm seeing now are very well reputable and if by chance I get a referral, I'll be sure to check out their backround, experience, licenses, and history. Thanks again.

dear god fairypower, don't scare her like that!

Do you know how long it took me just to get her to a chiropractor (not just me, but others, too)?  First of all, she doesn't need surgery, but if she does, she will need what she needs.  I'm sorry you had a bad experience, that sounds awful.  However, not all doctors are created equal and scaring the shit out of someone who may need medical attention, who is already timid about it, is not a good thing to do.  My Mom has has surgery on her back, has MS....I have to see a neurologist on a regular basis for a brain injury and a chiropractor as well, all have been essential to both of our recovery.  Yes, more than one opinion is good before surgery, but please don't be such an alarmist with a situation that really is the exception rather than the rule.  Otherwise I will have to move to Florida and pull my sister here around on a skateboard until we are old and crotchety (or, more crotchety depending on the day).

Spif, I'm laughing my ASS off at the visual (not the pain) of the kitty like.....oooooh, a RIDE....wheeeeeee.... that cracked me up.  Yes, that could be a challenge.  So could stairs.  Hmmmmm, maybe we should work on this idea and not do it along with shots of tequila and M's magic headache treatments.

Don't let a neurosurgeon near you!
8 1/2 years ago I had some pain in my neck and tingling in two fingers.  The Dr. sends me to a neurologist, which terrifies me, he says I may have MS and sends me to his friend Dr. Butcher, who says I think it's MS and a bulging disc. Now 5 years later I found out that all of my tests from all of these doctors came back normal.  I swear to God, but they lied.  Between them they made about $12,000.00 in less than 96 minutes (time in operating room)  I woke up with a burning neck, a migraine headache and tingling in two fingers.  It never stops.  I had a frozen neck for over 5 years. I couldn't even hold my baby grandkids.  I have had every kind of treatment out there.  Nothing makes it better because it wasn't "broken", they lied to make money.  I found out that in 1 year the surgeon had 5 malpractice suits against him, 1 was a 9 month old baby.  Please stay away from surgeons.  I have met dozens of people in the past 8 1/2 years and every single one of them got much worse after neck surgery.  I met one woman who had all of her vertebre fused and her two top ribs removed, because that is what Dr. Butcher told her she needed.  Now she's a zombie, single mom who can't function because of pain or if she takes her medications she is too high to know which end is up.  Please benefit from my experience.  Get lots of opinions from Drs. who aren't from the same area.  It's "a good old boys club" here in Utah

Temple, there's an M.D. on staff there.
And your skateboard idea is sounding better and better. Except, Kitty Lippers may try to hop on. God help me if Stonci tries.

sorry love, chiro can't give you drugs :|
What you said was, we're just finishing up and I have to put my clothes on....I think that's funnier.  We'll just tie you to a big board and pull you around on a skateboard or something.  It'll be fine. :)

Cass,
I've tried laying without a pillow. It does help a bit. I was just bored to tears staring at the ceiling!

That is one of the most annoying things......back pain. Hope you start feeling better or get prescribed some pretty good meds

The rare times I've put my neck out its been really painful and difficult to get rid of. I find sleeping without a pillow sometimes helps.

spitfire... LOL... you could say that about personal experience... LOL

btw... I once hurt my neck to the point where I couldn't move it at all, when I was about 10 years old.  Seriously.  My parents took me to a chiropractor and he fixed it, but it's never been the same since.   Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, Justsouno. I sure hope so, too.
This really SUCKS big time. I feel helpless and incapable of SO many things. I swear I'll never take the little everyday things for granted ever again!

blackcat,
My brother-in-law actually came to my house (that's the kewl thing about having a LPT in the family!) And regardless, the shirt inside out is okay cause M's out of town. hehe  Why, would it be wrong to come home with my shirt inside out? Hmm, personal experience?
