Go to Religion in the Modern World

- Go to I musta missed the meeting where they made you the head of censureship
BrightIrish - that's the spirit
and basically how this place is supposed to work but all too often emotions run rampant. It's nice to know that there are some people that can read, comment or simply ignore posts without resorting to some of the things we have witnessed. But I would guess that as the mother of 11 children, you have seen just about everything and every reaction that a human can muster. Thanx for stopping bye.

Gomedome....
I have just began to read your posts but when I do leave a comment you can be sure that it will be with respect for you and your posts even though at times I may not agree.

MandaLee -- in my mind that is the way to do it
When someone leaves a comment and it is later used as material or reference, it is vitally important that the original sentiment or intent of the comment remains intact.

There are some notions that we hold collectively that are in need of re-definition.

Gomedome, Thanks for the respectful reference to my comment.
And yes, I do and will always be respectful both of you as a person, and your right to freely believe as you do without threat or hateful behavior.

I may differ from you in religious views, but on this we can agree:
"There are too many who like to use such catch phrases as "freedom of religious expression" with the assumption that religious expression must include the worship of a supreme being. "
Very true.

cantey_1975 -- very well said
I agree that there is a lot to learn from other people on this site. Exactly what you describe as reading a posting and trying to understand the perspective of the individual is something I go through as well.

Gome
as a Christian, I have learned to just read your posts and see the point of view contained in them, and assimilate it into my own point of view as much as possible in order to enlarge it. Is that not one of the larger purposes of Blogit anyway? I do not allow myself to become offended because really there is just no point in getting offended. I would wager that your ultimate goal is not really to offend anyone, but to simply express your views which is your right.
Besides, your posts are very entertaining and often informative. And the more the sting, the more there is to learn.
