I spent many of my formative years living throughout Africa. I spoke two African dialects before I even learned to form my first English sentence properly. I lived among the native people and had no European or Amerian friends until my feet touched American soul five years later.
So let me reassure you, Glenn, that the atrocities you seem to think are happening to the black citizens of the United States are nowhere near as horrendous as those that the black Africans inflict on EACH OTHER to this day.
Slavery, rape, and murder run rampant among Africans of all shades of brown.

Glenn, How do you excuse the fact that you constantly hurl racial
and sexually harassing slurs at any and all bloggers who dare to disagree with you? And why do you feel it necessary? Show me ONE blogger who has dared to flat out call you the "n" word, and maybe I'll start understanding why you feel it necessary to constantly throw these terms out.
Don't you realize that utilizing these words only serves to UNDERMINE each and every argument you make? I'd be willing to bet that there are numerous bloggers out there who actually AGREE with some of what you have to say. However, because you lace your writing with slander, slurs, and accusations, you lose them before you even get your argument out of the gate.
It's sad, really. You are your own worst enemy.

I've tried talking to you, humoring you, and even throwing insults back at you. And I'm left wondering "Why?". There is only a miniscule black community of a few hundred people here,(mostly from Africa and Jamaica) at least I assume there is, as I don't know any of them, I exagerated about the snow however. We only get about 8 feet per year, call it a weak attempt at Canadian/ American humour. Anyways ..do people still get away with using terms such as nigger and gook in your part of the woods? They'd get the crap kicked out of them up here for doing that in public.

I am not sure if you use your isolation as a point of pride or a means to explore the outside world! Either case there is humanity in dialogue. The term "Whitey" is meant as a slander in the same manner as "Nigger, Gook, Sand Monkey, etc are used by White Folk (in private or public) to diminish the humanity of a segment of society. I would suggest its usage is no more extreme in frequency or tone!

I simply used the term "economic success" to envelope a vitally important point. Money, the accumulation of wealth and primarly the preservation of the entitlement that this wealth provides, are the root motivating factors. No argument here.
Now I have to inform you of who you are in dialogue with. I live in real whitey world. There is not a person of colour within 100 miles of where I live save a few Native Americans on the nearbye Indian Reserve. I do not know another black person in the world. You are it. You are the sole representative of the black race to me. The world I live in is so white that the ground is even white 8 months of the year with about 78 feet of snow (annual average) every winter. So from your sole representaion I have to figure out if all black people use the word "whitey" as much as you do. This is gonna be a challenge.

Very well organized snapshot of a seriously flawed notion. It helps to control the means of dissemination and and the means to finance the status-quo! A monetary system controlled to perpetuate the notion of race inferiority. This is a common elememt in all the eras mentioned. Can wealth or the absence of wealth account for most of the tragic conquences.

First off I have to agree with suggestions that it is a recently developing phenomona in mankind's history but that is only the notion of white supremacy in the form that we know it. The notion of yellow supremacy (during the era of the Mongol Hordes) far outdates any notion of supremacy that the white race ever had. There have also been regional or geographical versions of an inherent sense of racial supremacy. The Japanese during the second world war probably being the biggest if not the most recent example. There is not one race on this planet that has been exempt from a variation of this mindset at one point in history.
The underlying reason for white supremacy being a recent historical development is simply because it is a mindset that cannot stand on it's own without the support of some means of justification and constant re-afirmation. The justifications, as shallow and meaningless as they are to thinking people, can become life guiding precepts to the displaced or disenfranchised. This demonstrates for us that two precursive conditions must be present to support this mindset. An individual or group that has some form of motivation to elevate themselves above other racial groups, (a motivation that can take many forms) and some means of self-justification. This can be anything from extrapulating from economic success to religious beliefs. But to identify when it started as a specific movement is very tough. The mindset itself that would have an individual of one race self justify their superiority over another race or races, simply by virtue of skin colour, is to a certain degree inherent in human nature. It is also a malignancy that under the right set of negative circumstances can have enormous success at proliferation.

I thought you knew the answer and were just trying to see if any of us did. I think it started with the European countries colonizing Africa, India and other places where brown and black-skinned people lived. Heck, that was about in the 15th Century or earlier--and that colonial foot rested on the "natives'" necks until the last third of the 20th century. Of course you also had "scientific" theories like the eugenics thing and similar stuff earlier, that claimed it was quite clear that negroid people were inferior to caucasians. The funny thing is that there never were really those so-called four classifications. It was and is much more diverse. Some people who would fall into the caucasian basket, are dark brown-skinned. You took me asking you if your constant excitement with every sentence for anger, so maybe you should probe into your own insecurities. I found it rather cute how you are all, "!!!!" with everything. But maybe that is where my insanity comes into play. And just to clarify, where did I first come off looking like a candidate for Extraterrestrial conversation? Which leads me to my question, is this asking when the culture or the actual race itself first became inslaved. I believe there is a difference. That's just me. Over the years , all races, have conformed in some way or another to society's caste system. How we as a whole believe certain people should be. But of course, I know you are on the bigger issue, (this ain't about us whiteys!

Glenn--Interesting point that mystic brings up.
Having lived all over the world, I can say that this occurence (favoring light skinned people) is not limited to the US.
Take Thailand, for instance (or Burma, Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam). In those countries--where skin tones run from light to dark brown--the fair tones are seen as more beautiful and desirable. Same goes for areas of China, Iraq, India, and Japan. The only place where I do NOT remember this being the case is in (can you guess?)...Niger and Chad. Although my memories are vague from these two coutnries and times may have changed since then.

I don't know why fair-skinned people thought of themselves as superior to those of us with a browner hue, but I know it exists in Mexico, Central and Latin America. The fair skinned look at themselves as artistocrats while the darker among us are considered "inferior."

always made a pt to share our beer with the local negroes. Kind of bonded thru beer, if ya know what I mean. Of course, I never could stomach that Colt 45, and they didn't like Coors Light. Met halfway. We just split plastic bottles of vodka.
They didn't laugh at our cars being up on blocks or our sister-wives, and we didn't poke fun at their jeri (I know I'm spelling that wrong) curls. It all worked out okay.
I'm glad you're letting me adopt you. What kind of cereal do you want tomorrow morning?

Hurricanes and so much devastation. I just wanted to say that I think it's a shame when someone focuses so intensely on one thing.
There's a whole forest of gorgeous trees of every description, plus wildlife like squirrels, rabbits, birds....there's the blue sky, the rain, but all you see is that ONE DEAD TREE.
You wouldn't be so angry and miserable if you would take a hard look at all the positive, good things in your life today. I have many applicants who no longer have homes to live in - all they took when they left New Orleans was 3 changes of clothes.
They lost baby books, photo albums, their mother's china, the stuff their kids made for them at school, plus furnishings it had taken them years to accumulate. Some of them will never be able to go home again bec of the oil/chemical spill.
