Kooka...I firmly believe that Christ died for my sins. However, I believe

the Bible is often misinterpreted by believer and non-believers alike.  My faith is based more on the spiritual; my own concience.  Organized religion both scares me and angers me.  I refuse to place a label and call myself Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc.  While I believe people are free to feel and think as they do, my journey is more about finding a common ground.  Truth is WE ARE ALL FOOLS.  Noone has an exact answer or a perfect intrpretation of THE BIGGER PICTURE.

Take Halloween as an example:  "Repent, repent, it is a day evoked by Satan.  Lock your children behind doors.  Don't let them cater to the devil."  Okay, maybe Hallow's Eve evolved of violence and darkness.  But, in 2005, the MAJORITY of society celebrate in pleasure - not violence.  My child dresses up like a moviestar and goes door to door for candy.  Then she comes home, curls under the blanket with me, and watches Nighmare on Elmstreet.  November 1st, she goes to school, and Hallow's Eve is over.  What's violent and dark about that?  Oh, and if Halloween falls on a Saturday, she gets up and goes to church on Sunday.  Hmmm...Halloween sinful...not in 2005.  Not by MY standars.

Anyways...it's my favorite time of year...particularly cuz' of the weather and the changing of the seasons.

Now that is the right attitude to have. The most important aspect of life is to live it and have fun living it. For me Halloween is about as fun as it gets. It is the holiday that really is all about nothing but fun, fun and more fun. I honestly think most of those who have a problem with Halloween just do not know how to enjoy life and just have fun. They take themselves far too seriously and allow no real fun in their lives.

I so enjoy finding believers who are not stuck up and do not come across as brainwashed fools who just spit out the propaganda that they have been told. It sounds like you are one who thinks for herself and is very accepting of the reality that other's are going to have strong beliefs that do not agree with yours and you are not going to put them down for that.

I so wish I could afford one of those life sized guys they have out. Every year they are getting more and more really cool decorations for Halloween and every year I can afford less and less. Although there is still the after Halloween clearance to look forwards to. I have a nice collection of Halloween decorations thanks to those sales. Now I if I can only get a job before Halloween so I have money for afterwards.

Kooka...Will be heading to Spencer's to purchase a life size, talking
version of Freddy Krueger for my front porch this year.  Halloween is not a sin...it is a time for being child-like, catching people off guard, laughing till your gut hurts, and eating a lot of candy.  Plain and simple.  Halloween is a state of mind.
